The theme for 2024 is 'Girls' Vision of the Future'. Sustainability is a key goal moving forward, for all of us, and one small but significant way in which girls and women can feel empowered to embody this value is through access to plastic-free and reusable period products.
Standard disposable period pads can contain up to 90% plastic, which along with plastic tampon applicators contribute to a staggering amount of single-use waste in landfill and waterways. Thankfully, more sustainable solutions are finally making their way onto the market! We're very proud to stock a range of these options, which can be indefinitely re-used, saving both waste and money ♻️
🌸 DAME reusable pads are designed to be super comfortable and completely odour-free, come in a range of absorbencies, and have the option of a discreet dry-bag to make integrating them into your cycle even easier.
🌸 Selenacare period pants are great for the lighter days or in combination with other products, in a comfy style with antimicrobial technology to feel dry and fresh.
🌸 The classic Mooncup and new TOTM menstrual cups are a great tampon alternative, made from soft silicone. TOTM cups come in a size suitable for teens, and this company is going steps further: working to remove plastic waste from waterways and ensuring all production is carbon-offset.
You can find these sustainable period solutions, as well as a wide range of organic cotton plastic-free products, upstairs in our bodycare department!
