Full moon blessings dear Moon Yoginis! I am really feeling the shift into a new season - the lighter days, warmth, spring flowers and sunshine. I know from speaking to some of you that you are noticing the impact of these changes, physically, mentally and spiritually.
At this time the Ayurvedic dosha known as Pitta is beginning to increase. Pitta dosha is made up of the elements fire and water and has the qualities: hot, sharp, oily, light, penetrating and intense.
For some of you, the manifestations of these qualities may be welcome. For example, you may notice that you feel more uplifted, focused and energised. For others, there may be less desirable effects, such as stress, irritability, inflammation, acidity and skin rashes. If you are experiencing any of these signs of imbalance, Ayurveda recommends a pitta balancing diet, which includes cutting out or minimising oil, acidic foods, such as tomatoes, vinegar and chilli. You might also like to try this simple recipe as your first drink of the day:
Coriander Water Recipe
Soak 3 teaspoons of coriander seeds in 200 ml water overnight. Drink first thing in the morning when you get up (you can add a little hot water if you like).
Classes and Events
I am considering whether to open the monthly Moon Circle to all women (previously this was a closed group for graduates of the 13 Moons Course). This session is an hour long and consists of a brief guided meditation to ground and centre, followed by a sharing circle - it takes place on Tuesday evenings via Zoom monthly. Please let me know if you would be interested in joining so I have an idea of numbers.
