I have volunteered at Pegasus - Men's Wellbeing Centre for the last couple of years. It has been a huge honour to work with each client; to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where they can talk openly and feel heard.

The importance of self care is often discussed but if we're really honest with ourselves do we actually take the time to pause and to look after ourselves?

It can be helpful to think of self care as charging up a mobile. When our phone battery is running low we plug it in. We too need to recharge our batteries.

A good question to ask yourself is "What do I love doing but never have enough time to do?" For me, it's the rare treat of reading my book in bed with a morning coffee.

I hope you can take some time today to think about you. Even if it's only for a brief amount of time, it can make such a difference to our wellbeing.

Perimenopause and menopause can bring unexpected changes — not just physically, but emotionally too.

You may notice changes in your mood, your confidence, your relationships, or how you feel in yourself day to day.

For some, it can also bring a sense of loss or grief for how life has unfolded, or for the version of life you once imagined.

As a person-centred counsellor, I have a particular interest in supporting women through this stage of life. I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly, feel heard, and begin to make sense of what you’re experiencing — at your own pace.

I'm so excited to have been invited to attend this brilliant event!

I'll be there to chat about what kind of support I can offer to anyone who is thinking about counselling or knows someone who may benefit from it.

There will be a fantastic range of female led local businesses: dance, fitness, beauty, photography, massage, meditation and yoga. I could be tempted to try out the tap dancing session!

Bring a pal and come along to what promises to be a fab night out! xx

Happy (belated) International Women’s Day!

Friends of Mithisn School are excited to share that Ladies’ Night is officially happening on May 19th, and already have a few people confirmed.

This event is all about connection, celebration, and showcasing the amazing women in our community. It’s also a great opportunity to promote the school while simply enjoying a fun evening together. Feel free to bring a plus-one!

At the moment the weather is so changeable; it feels like we've got used to expecting rain, wind and the cold. And then suddenly, out of the blue, the sunshine comes. On these days I've noticed that I instantly feel lighter and hopeful for what may follow.

We cannot control the weather, just as sometimes we cannot control how we feel day to day. But we can notice and sit with it.

On stormier days, we can go slower, expect less of ourselves and accept that it's "just one of those days". We can be patient and trust that brighter days will follow. And when they do, we can welcome them with an open heart 💞
