📣 We are delighted to welcome Jane Cunningham to our Amersham clinic team! 🌟

Jane is a highly experienced prosthetist with a strong background in clinical care and healthcare management. Originally from Galway, Ireland, she brings over six years of prosthetics experience, most recently serving as Clinical Lead at Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH). With a passion for biomechanics and patient-centred care, Jane has worked with patients requiring upper and lower limb prosthetics, and is particularly interested in sports prosthetics and paediatric care. She’s especially passionate about the finer aspects of prosthetic alignment, finding joy in the small tweaks that can make a significant difference in a patient’s gait and quality of life.

Outside the clinic, you’ll find Jane cycling, hiking, or watching Gaelic football. We’re thrilled to have her on board and know she’ll be a fantastic addition to the team! 💙

After being injured whilst cycling Steve suffered a serious leg fracture. He initially hoped to recover, but complications meant his leg had to be amputated above the knee, and this was the start of a long and challenging journey.

Steve faced phantom limb pain, emotional hurdles, and the frustration of multiple falls, even after being fitted with a prosthetic limb. But he was determined to get back to his previous life, one that was full of movement.

Through his solicitors, Steve was introduced to Dorset Orthopaedic’s Ringwood clinic, where he was fitted with the Genium X4. With support from Physiotherapist’s Connor and Mary, he’s now rebuilding the active life he once loved, from pier fishing and seafront walks to spending quality time with his wife and grandchildren. Looking towards to the future, Steve hopes to visit Australia to see Great White Sharks 💙

Good luck to Leo Millar who’s heading to the US Disabled Golf Association Championship this May! 🏌️‍♂️⛳

Born without a right hand, Leo has never let anything hold him back, from surfing and skateboarding to competing on the golf course. He’s been a patient at Dorset Orthopaedic since the age of 10, and we’ve been proud to support his journey with a custom golf prosthesis that helps him play with confidence 💪

When he’s not on the green, Leo’s a talented carpenter fixing boats, proving that nothing’s off limits. For him, golf isn’t just about competition, it’s about pushing boundaries and personal growth and it has allowed him to connect with others who face similar challenges.

We’re behind you all the way Leo, good luck this May 🍀
