Natalie from our Amersham Clinic recently had the incredible opportunity to travel to Cortina to support her patient, Luke Tarrant, while he was in Italy the Winter Paralympics 🇮🇹

While there, Natalie fitted Luke with the new Salomon Ski Foot, helping him get back on the slopes with confidence. Watching Luke ski, just his second time back since his amputation, was truly incredible to see.

We love rehabilitation that goes beyond the clinic, and supporting our patients as they return to the activities they love 💙

Huge congratulations to Colin Edwards for completing The Grizzly with Axe Valley Runners! 🦿

The Grizzly is no ordinary run – a 20-mile off-road challenge that takes runners across beaches and along a mix of roads, trails and muddy tracks. Colin took it all in his stride, finishing 3 minutes faster than last year.

An impressive achievement on such a tough course, well done, Colin! 👏💙

The lovely Pat first visited our Bristol clinic last year, and earlier this week we had the absolute pleasure of delivering her new prosthesis at home – just in time for her 90th birthday!

Pat’s request was a unique one… she wanted a ‘copy’ of her original prosthesis from 1965. But the workshop rose to the challenge, combining traditional design elements with modern prosthetic materials to create a prosthesis Pat is very happy with.

Yesterday, we hosted our PT Training Day at our Burton Clinic, focusing on the vital role physiotherapy plays in supporting people with limb loss throughout their rehabilitation journey.

The session was led by Physiotherapist, Beth Langley, and Prosthetist, Linsey Edwards, with support from Chris George, Personal Trainer and amputee.

Together, they explored key areas including building strength, gait re-training, and how a clear understanding of different prosthetic devices can make everyday movement feel more natural and manageable. Chris also shared his personal experience, offering valuable insight into how these elements influence his own training and mobility.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such an engaging and informative event.

Congratulations to Andrew Simister, who has been nominated in the Adaptive Player category at the British Padel Awards 👏✨

Andrew first picked up a padel racket in March 2024, and what began as a single lesson quickly became a mission to encourage other amputees in his local area to get involved in the sport. Along the way, Andrew connected with Paralympian Alessandro Ossola, leading to an invitation to compete on the Inclusive Padel Tour, where he made history as the first English amputee to compete.

🎾 Padel Taster Sessions – for Adaptive Players 🎾

We’re excited to be hosting Padel Taster Sessions designed specifically for adaptive users. It’s a great chance to get active, meet others, and try one of the world’s fastest-growing sports in a relaxed and supportive setting.

Each session includes expert coaching to guide you through the basics, followed by friendly match play to put your new skills into practice. No experience needed – just come along and give it a go!

There’s a small cost per session, which includes coaching, racket hire, and a well-earned drink to enjoy afterwards.
