I had the pleasure of hosting a meditation and sound bath for the lovely residents of Upperbanks on Sunday. Lots of rest, relaxation and letting the sound 'do its thing' went on. I slept like a baby myself...I feel the benefits too! šŸ˜

Mini Retreat in Rochdale…Last 2 spaces available -tomorrow evening

There are two remaining spaces for Reset & Root, a 2.5-hour Sound, Stillness & Integration mini retreat taking place tomorrow evening.

This is a gentle, embodied offering for those feeling ungrounded, overstimulated, or overly ā€œin their head,ā€ and who are longing for a slower rhythm and a deeper sense of support.

There is nothing to fix, achieve, or understand.
No performance, no pressure, no expectation.

Through sound-supported rest, stillness, and subtle somatic attunement, the nervous system is invited to soften and settle, allowing grounding and presence to arise naturally.

If you’re feeling called toward:
– slowing down
– reconnecting with your body
– resting without effort
– being held in a quiet, non-verbal space

you would be very welcome.

šŸ•Æ Friday 1st May
šŸ•Æ 6:30–9:00pm
šŸ•Æ St. Martins Church, Castleton
šŸ•Æ Mats, blankets, and warm cacao or tea provided

If this resonates, you’re welcome to take one of the final two spaces.

I look forward to sharing this space with you,
Emma

Mini Retreat-Reset & Root- only 3 spaces now available

I’m offering something new from May, and I wanted to share it here first.

Once a month, I’ll be holding a Sound, Stillness & Integration Mini Retreat — a longer, slower space to rest, settle, and reconnect in a supported way.

The first one is called Reset & Root.

This session is about grounding and arriving in the body. Not through doing or fixing, but by allowing the nervous system to soften and attention to return gently to the body and breath. We’ll spend time with sound-supported rest, a quiet cup of cacao or herbal tea, gentle somatic attunement (this isn’t yoga — there are no poses), meditation, and space to integrate together.

It’s not a workshop or a ceremony, and there’s nothing to achieve. It’s simply an invitation to slow down, feel supported, and notice what’s already here.

I’m offering this for anyone who feels overstimulated, disconnected, or tired of always being ā€œin their headā€ — and for those who are longing for rest, presence, and a more embodied way of being.

The first mini retreat takes place on Monday 1st May, 6:30–9pm, at St. Martin’s Church in Castleton.

If this resonates, you can find more details and book via the link below. And if you’re unsure, you’re very welcome to message me and ask.

This Week’s Meditation: Grounding into the Body

This Wednesday we’ll be exploring a gentle, embodied meditation focused on grounding awareness out of the head and into the body, particularly the lower body, legs, feet, and our connection with the ground beneath us.

Many of us live much of life from the neck up, carried by thought, effort, and mental momentum. This practice offers an invitation to soften that upward pull and allow awareness to gradually descend, resting lower, closer to gravity, and closer to the body’s innate sense of support.

The meditation will include:

• A slow body scan beginning behind the eyes
• Gently dropping awareness down through the body
• Time spent resting in the lower body and breath
• An effortless approach, nothing to fix, manage, or achieve

I’ve also written a new blog post on why grounding practices can be so supportive, especially when we feel unsteady, overactivated, or disconnected from the body. You’re very welcome to read it before class:

Tonight feels like a good night to slow things down.

This evening I’m hosting a sound bath with herbal tea at Fielden Hall, Todmorden, from 7:00–8:15 pm, and you’re very welcome to join us.

A small, interesting note I love to share: long before sound was ever described as ā€œhealing,ā€ cultures used rhythm, tone, and vibration simply to help people rest, focus, and feel more connected — to themselves and to each other. Your body doesn’t need to understand sound to respond to it; it just listens.

We’ll settle in, let the sounds do what they do best, and finish with a warm cup of herbal tea to gently bring things back.

If your nervous system has had a busy week, this is a soft place to land.

Attention vs. Awareness: A Gentle Shift in Meditation

In meditation, there’s a subtle but important difference between attention and awareness.

Attention is noticing with the mind.
It focuses, selects, and does.
You might feel it as effort, concentration, or a slight lifting into the head.

Awareness is different.
It doesn’t focus or try.
It’s the open space in which breath, sensations, and thoughts are already happening.
Often felt as ease, softness, or a settling into the body.

One helpful bridge between the two is resting as the breath.
Instead of watching the breath, we inhabit it.
Doing softens.
Being begins.

From here, awareness often reveals itself naturally—without effort.

If you’d like to explore this experientially, I’ll be guiding a meditation this Wednesday at Soul 7-8pm, where we move gently from attention, to being the breath, to resting in awareness—no experience required.

You can read the full blog post (link below) for a deeper explanation or join me in practice if that feels right for you.

A Training in Rest & Nervous System Trust

Sound-Supported Guided Meditation at:
Soul Wellness Hub, Sowerby Bridge, Wednesdays 7-8pm

This week’s class is an invitation to slow down and come home to the body through the breath.

We’ll begin with sound (drumming and Tibetan bowls), then move into a guided meditation focused on breathing gently into the belly and allowing the exhale to move downward…into the ground. From here, we’ll explore what it feels like to be supported rather than held together by effort, and gradually open into the awareness that is already here, holding it all.

This practice can be supportive if you:
• feel anxious, restless, or over-activated
• tend to live ā€œin your headā€
• feel disconnected from your body or breath
• are longing for a sense of grounding and ease
• are curious about awareness-based meditation without striving

No experience with meditation is needed.
There is nothing to achieve, fix, or improve.
You’re welcome to sit, lie down, move, or rest as needed.

We’ll close with a gentle reflection space. Sharing is optional. Silence is welcome.

SOUND MEDITATION @ SOUL WELLNESS HUB, Sowerby Bridge-Wednesdays 7-8pm

Come and embark on a journey of meditation and sound! By weaving the sounds of the Tibetan and crystal bowls, shamanic drum, chakapa, native flute, chimes and rattles with gentle meditation, you will be guided on a journey of awareness…of breath, body, emotion, thoughts, wisdom and the unified field of consciousness.

With sound as support to settle the nervous system and to steady the mind, meditation can deepen your experience. By bringing awareness into the body, you will be guided to embody the human experience from the inside out, noticing how thoughts, emotions and sensations arise within this vast spaciousness.

Come and let go of the external phenomena that keeps us hidden from truth and transition into the quiet internal space of Being, embodying every aspect of the Self as the limitless, timeless, awareness that we are.

Space is limited. If you would like to learn more or book your place, please visit:
