A great start to 2026!

The start of the New Year was celebrated successfully, with residents creating their own special party hats for the occasion.

We will be continuing our trips out with Driving Miss Daisy Romsey, in the lead up to new year, residents enjoyed a visit to Wellow Golf Club for refreshments, which the residents said they thoroughly enjoyed.

Ollie Fox celebrated his 2nd birthday!

One resident has been treating us all to some music on the organ - supporting residents to enjoy their hobbies and keep their skills is important to us at Cedar Lawn, but also benefits the other residents who enjoy singing along!

Christmas at Cedar Lawn 🎄

Christmas week was very special! We all enjoyed singing Christmas carols, playing games and having visits from loved ones. The traditional Christmas lunch went down well too!

We are now preparing for New Years celebrations!

The lead up to Christmas has been filled with fun, laughter and a whole lot of singing!

Last week we had a Residents Christmas Party, and a family carol service led by Rev. Tom Benson.

Cllr. Gordon Bailey Mayor of Test Valley kindly joined us to sing along to the Romsey Ukulele Group on Friday, and residents commented on how nice it was to meet the Mayor!
One resident said "What a day we had, the whole place was alive!"

Keeping residents involved with the local community is a key part of life at Cedar Lawn.

The festivities will continue this week, with everyone especially looking forward to Christmas dinner!

A huge thank you to all of the Cedar Lawn team, for their hard work, ensuring the residents have a wonderful Christmas time.

Christmas Jumper Day 2025 Save the Children UK🎄

We all had fun getting dressed up in our festive jumpers and hats!

There has been plenty of opportunity to show our creative sides with Christmas themed art, craft and games, and supporting to decorate the many Christmas trees we have up this year - there were even some special little helpers!

The festivities will continue next week, we are all looking forward to the residents Christmas party!

Our Christmas celebrations have begun, and it is wonderful to see the residents enjoying themselves, along with their families and the team of staff!

We are lucky to have made wonderful links within our local community, and have had visits from Hope Choir and Halterworth School Choir. The residents commented on how polite the children were, and enjoyed engaging with them.

Everyone was dancing and singing along to Cosmic Sparkle this week, and the celebrations will continue over the next few weeks!

Thank you to all of the team and families who help to support these events for our residents.

We have had our monthly visit from our lovely Pets As Therapy volunteer + her dog this week. This is a popular visit, which benefits all residents, if they wish to join in.

Residents enjoy reminiscing about the pets they had previously and comment on how soft Luna's fur is, providing a sensory experience too.

This months Rise sports session was based on netball! For some residents this was their first chance to try out their skills, for others, it brought back fond memories. Discussions of positions played in were heard, along with fun and laughter!

After a busy session, residents relaxed in the Orangery, listening to one resident practice her skills on the organ. It gave us good opportunity to warm up our singing skills before our upcoming Christmas events! 🎄

Halloween Fun 🎃

Everyone enjoyed getting dressed up and having fun this Halloween at Cedar Lawn! It was wonderful to hear the laughter throughout the home.

We all enjoyed spooky cakes homemade by our talented chef!

We have had trips to Bovington Tank Museum and to Carlos Tea Rooms recently. The weather starting to get cooler has not stopped us getting out exploring with Driving Miss Daisy Romsey!

Inside we have kept busy with board games, and a visit from Hope Choir for Harvest Festival.

The residents have been busy helping plan our visiting entertainers for next year. It is important at Cedar Lawn to keep the residents involved in plans for their home and schedule events and activities of their choice!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our coffee afternoon. Our Head Chef who created the wonderful cakes and biscuits, Anita and Martin who donated their time to play their cellos, the staff who worked together to ensure the afternoon was a success, and to everyone who kindly joined our lovely residents for tea and cake!

It would not have been the same without the team work!

We have been having lots of fun in September. More of our favourite outings with Driving Miss Daisy Romsey and our regular sports session with Rise!

There have been birthdays, activities and all round fun throughout the month too!

We look forward to starting some Autumn activities now.
