We’re living in an age of information overload — constantly bombarded with (often conflicting) messages about health and fitness.
There’s little room for nuance on social media, and advice often becomes polarised or oversimplified.
A client recently showed me something they’d seen on a Facebook reel. When I asked what the purpose of the "exercise" was, they said, “I don’t know — it’s meant to be good for ageing bodies.” Needless to say, it wasn’t ideal!
And then yesterday, I worked with two clients who both said that what made the biggest difference for them was knowing the why behind the moves.
I love this. I’ve seen how empowering it is when people understand the reason behind what they’re doing. When they learn about and explore how their body works, and become aware of how they’re moving — everything changes.
Armed with knowledge and awareness, they’re able to take charge of their bodies and make lasting change , no longer reliant on trends, quick fixes, or someone else telling them what to do. P.S. I’m just holding Skelibones’ foot. Nothing more, nothing less.

✨ On Sunday I had a lovely day out at the Barefoot Shoe Expo organised by . It was great to see so many people there, two of my clients even made the trip, and I treated myself to a cosy new pair of boots for the winter.

👣 If you fancy trying some barefoot shoes, we’re super lucky to have the UK’s first independent barefoot shoe shop right here in Herefordshire: The Barefoot Shoe Box at in Kington.

💬 Curious about why barefoot shoes are such a game changer? Give me a shout! And if you’d like to prepare your feet—and your whole body to move as nature intended, come and have a chat.

I’ve been working in the cabin now for 2 weeks, we got finished just in time for the change in season 🍂

I’m loving the new space as are my clients, but I’m missing the physical labour that went into the build and garden dig out!…After a day mostly sitting looking at a screen I felt more depleted than ever, my body, and mind crave movement. And I’m thankful for all the alignment and mobility training I’ve done to prepare my body for the heavy lifting and hauling involved in this project.
To feel capable, to be mostly pain free, and to have the tools to ease the pain and realign when I’ve done too much….

This is my work, and I’m now ready to take on new clients🍁Drop me a message or comment if you want to find out more 💬

Balance is one of those things we tend to take for granted.
It’s often seen as something that just gets worse with age — but I see plenty of younger folks struggling with it too.

The risks may be higher as we get older, but balance isn’t just an “older person” issue.

The truth is, we can’t be good at what we don’t practice. And modern life doesn’t give us many chances to use or challenge our balance.

✨That’s why part of my resilient ageing strategy is seeking out uneven, unpredictable terrain.✨

The more we train balance, the more confidence we build — and that fear of falling starts to fall away.

I always start clients off with balance work in a supported, controlled setting, but the goal is always to take those skills out into real-life situations.🌿

I talk to a lot of people who want to take better care of their physical wellbeing — but feel stuck.

They’re overwhelmed by the constant stream of advice and information about what kind of exercise they should be doing, and how much of it.
And when they can’t keep up with the ever-changing recommendations, they blame themselves.
They assume they’re lazy, undisciplined, or just not motivated enough.

But the real issue isn’t willpower.
It’s that movement has been reduced to workouts and fitness plans — held separate from the rest of life.
Something to squeeze in around everything else.

In my work, we don’t just focus on exercises.
We explore how you move now (or don’t), the environments you live in, and the patterns you've developed over time.
From there, we look at how movement can become more meaningful, more natural — and more doable.
Not just another task on your to-do list.

✨ If you're ready to move differently — to feel more at home in your body and less at odds with your schedule — I invite you to get in touch.

Let’s talk about what’s going on for you, what you’re working toward, and whether this work might be a good fit.

Did you know…
You can be active and still have sedentary parts?

Your body is incredibly adaptable. It will find a way to get a task done—even if it has to work around tight or underused areas. But those clever work-arounds come at a cost.

Where there's limitation, there's compensation.

So—what are you working around? And how might that be showing up in your body?

We all develop our own unique strategies—usually without even knowing it. My job is to help shine a light on them.
Because with awareness comes choice. ✨

One of the first things I introduce to clients is the calf stretch—both as an exercise and as a self-assessment tool.

When the calf doesn’t yield, the body adapts. Look out for signs like:
→ a forward-leaning torso
→ rib thrust
→ forward head
→ pelvis or thigh rotation
→ swayed-out hip
→ loss of big toe mound connection

The twists and kinks your body makes to take a positive stride are the same ones that show up in your walk.

When we first start realigning, it’s common to see a negative stride pattern. That’s because our ankles and calves have adapted to a lifetime of positive-heeled shoes, sitting, and flat terrain.

The calf stretch helps restore what’s missing: heels-down, uphill motion. It's even more effective when combined with real-life incline and flat, zero-heel shoes.

Curious? Wondering how this applies to your body? Feel free to reach out—it’s nuanced, and we don’t often think about it because… well, we’re getting around just fine. Until we’re not.

Great listen for anyone interested in bone health.
There’s often a lot of overwhelming information out there—especially around bone health during peri/menopause. As always, Katy and Jeannette do a great job of bringing some much-needed nuance to the conversation.

There's a lot of talk out there about bone, trying to identify the (oftentimes single) best MODE of EXERCISE. But when it comes to bone tissue and total skeletal function—whether you're talking developing bones in children or vulnerable (osteopenia/osteoporotic bone) IT'S NOT THE MODE, IT'S THE LOAD.

Biologist Dr. Jeannette Loram and I break down bone (get it?) over two hour-long Move Your DNA podcast episodes, the second episode just out today. Go have a listen to both (Move Your DNA Ep. 180 & 181) -- you can learn on the move! Listen below or wherever you get your podcasts!

I like to keep my inputs as natural as possible, and one of my favourite movement tools is this simple wooden beam.
It invites playfulness into my practice and helps keep my mind centred and present.
There are endless ways to use it to explore balance, coordination, mobility, stability, and strength.
When you take a natural movement approach you don’t need fancy or expensive equipment. Opportunities present themselves..
I found my beam in the shed — it’s a bit rough, which I like! — but you can pick up a planed 2x4 from a builders’ merchant or DIY store for very little cost.🌿
