A lovely day learning this nurturing massage for expectant Mothers.

Pregnancy massage is suitable both during pregnancy and post partum, offering a beautiful blend of relaxation and stimulation 🌿

There are many changes to a womans body during this time, and with it can come associated physical discomforts, especially in the later stages of pregnancy. Great for promoting relaxation, and calming the nervous system.

Pregnancy massage is typically given in either a seated position, or supported side lying.

As a gift from me to you, I will be offering 20% off pregnancy massages booked between now and mid-April for Mothers Day πŸ’— Whether your expecting, navigating the fourth trimester, or know someone that is deserving of some relaxation.

If there is ever a reminder to get outside, it is days like today 🌿 Your body will thank you.

Beautiful sunshine, a strong breeze and fresh air β˜€οΈ

Movement really is medicine.

The grasses were such a vivid green they looked like moss from afar, and striking shadows were cast on the undulating landscape.

It was great to get movement in, and hiking practice ahead of a fund-raising event I am participating in for the Malvern Hills NCT branch, in mid April.

I will be hiking 9 miles whilst carrying my Daughter in a structured back carrier across the Malverns taking in both the Worcestershire and Herefordshire beacon.

Today I attended a local introductory workshop on essential oils. I have always been in marvel of the calming effect they can have on wellbeing and enhancing mood, but wanted more insight and to dig a little deeper 🌿
It was a lovely group of like minded women, and one of the hosts was another local reflexologist.

Greeted by a sparkling water with a choice of citrus oil, then a ceremonial grade cacao with orange oil to start.
An informative morning looking at some key essential oils to enhance both physical wellbeing, and emotional and mental clarity.
Fascinating looking at the oils properties, and the profound impact they can have on wellbeing. We were using doTERRA oils.

Where possible, I always try and foster a more natural approach to wellbeing. It has certainly given me more knowledge and confidence in incorporating them more into mine and my families life for natural support in a variety of areas.
Below are some great little emotion wheels, and an ailment compass that can help choose new oilsπŸͺ»

This was a workshop for my own insight. Please note, I do not incorporate essential oils into my professional practice.

Do you suffer with tension headaches, or migraines?

Headaches and migraines can be caused by a number of factors ranging from poor posture, stress/anxiety through to muscle tension in the neck/upper back and over exertion through physical activity.

Targeted massage techniques offer a natural and effective way to help relieve headaches, and migraines.

🌿 Tension relief- by focussing on areas that are susceptible to tension build up such as the neck/scalp and upper back, tension can be alleviated through massage.

🌿 Stress- when we are stressed our body goes into a fight/flight mode, and cortisol levels can increase. Massage is known to help reduce cortisol levels and increase serotonin and dopamine which help in promoting relaxation.

At Imprints, I create a calming environment with tranquil music playing for optimal relaxation. A choice of oils, or preblended waxes are used. Depending on what pressure is wanted, I offer both Swedish massage and deep tissue massage.

Treatments are adapted to individual needs

A little bit late, but welcome February 🌱 Nearly everyone I speak to is saying the same thing at the moment, and how they are longing for warmer days.
The rain has been relentless, and the skies grey. Winter can be a hard time to navigate. I know I've been struggling with motivation aside from work.
Beautiful snowdrops emerging in our garden. Glimmers of Spring on the horizon.
I'm normally a firm believer in the saying "it's not the weather, it's how you dress" but I have been finding the weather particularly oppressive.

Small things I have been doing to help with mental and physical wellbeing in the colder months.

Daily walks 🌳 Even if it's a short walk along a nearby canal stretch, I always get out. Movement is so important to not feeling stagnant.

Less screen time. It's so easy to while away time aimlesslyπŸ“±

Swimming πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ- I love the sense of calm that swimming brings. Reflection on a day, and a more mindful exercise. It never feels too intense either

Spa day with a friend- So nice to be on the receiving end of a massage for a change, and time to unwind πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

A lovely soundbath experience. I forget just how powerful and immersive they are.

I hope everyone has had a nice January- Alice x

Massage for fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition characterised by pain and tenderness throughout the body. Symptoms vary from person to person and can include- hypersensitivity, fatigue, through to stiffness and headaches.

🌿 Gentle adapted massage, can be an effective way of managing pain for those suffering with fibromyalgia. Massage helps calm the nervous system, enhances relaxation, and reduces stiffness and muscle pain.

Treatments are always tailored to needs, using adapted pressure and techniques. Swedish massage is a gentle form of massage using long flowing strokes, and kneading that targets the superficial layers of muscle that can be beneficial for those with fibromyalgia.

I thought the New Year would be a good time to do a little reintroduction, whether your a new follower or interested in holistic therapies 🌿 A little bit on me, what I offer, my background and plans for 2026.

I'm Alice, owner of Imprints Holistic Therapies- reflexologist and massage therapist. I offer mobile treatments in and around Ross-on-Wye, both private homes, and visiting holiday accommodation. I love the diversity that being mobile brings. I create a safe and relaxing space for you to relax, and unwind.

I qualified in reflexology in 2022, setting up practice at the end of 2024.
I have a 21month old Daughter, whom I welcomed in the Spring of 2024 after fertility issues, and recurrent miscarriage thinking I would never have a child.
Best made plans of setting up my business at the time of qualifying were put on hold while navigating this time. Sometimes you have to take your foot off the pedal, and listen to your body.

My background was in health and social care. This laid the foundations for my transition and desire to train in complementary therapies. I wanted to support people in a more gentle, nurturing, and holistic way. A softer approach.

⛰️ I'm an enthusiastic walker, and love hiking. Always in awe of the beauty around us, and how grounding nature and the natural world is.

πŸ₯‘ Complete foodie, and love cooking and everything nutrition based.

πŸ“Έ Budding photography artist. A passion I've had from when I was younger- A level/college study.

β™ŽοΈ Work-life balance. I work part-time at present to allow for being a present Mother. Precious.

πŸ‘£ Staying upto date in the holistic field, and focussing on my professional development. I'm furthering my reflexology training in April. I am already a trained reflexologist, but have decided to progress and do my clinical reflexology.
