It is the simple things ✨️ Being out in nature, enjoying the seasonal changes and beautiful sunshine. A grounding walk and movement is sometimes all that is needed πŸƒ

Autumn is the season that invites us to slow down 🧑

Welcome October πŸͺΉπŸπŸ‚

As we enter a new month, don't forget to notice the shift in seasons, and honour a slower pace 🧑

I personally love the Autumn. My birth month is October and I have always wondered whether people have a natural leaning to the season they were born in?

Noticing changes in the season is important for general well-being, and can help you adapt to changes in your energy levels and mood πŸƒβ˜€οΈ Eating seasonally is also a fantastic way to support health.

If you would like a moment of pause, reflection and self nurture, please get in touch ✨️

A physically challenging, but fantastic day yesterday. Happy to say I completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge doing a solo hike yesterday β˜€οΈ

With a combined ascent of 1585 metres and a 24 mile circular walk in total it was a tough day, but the breathtaking scenery and views made it worth it ⛰️

Safe to say, I am enjoying a more restful day today and will be having a long soak with epsom salts later to soothe achy muscles πŸ›

Just a few pictures I took yesterday. It was so serene and picturesque. I always feel landscape photos are better for the memory bank. Photos never seem to do justice for the beauty and vastness of nature.

🌍 World Reflexology Week πŸ‘£

Latest research by Barbara and Kevin Kunz shows images of MRI scans of the brain.

These images showed activation in areas of the brain not related to the foot, when using applied reflexology techniques.

This fascinating research reveals that reflexology does have positive effects on the body, and overall wellness when treating certain conditions.

Reflexology is not just about relaxation. It is about wellbeing, and bringing your body into harmony.

πŸ‘£ World reflexology week πŸ‘£

It's world reflexology week, and with it I will be sharing some personal insights and information around reflexology.

🌿 For nearly 20 years I worked in the health and social care sector. I worked as a HCA across hospitals and nursing homes. I also worked as a support worker. Caring for others came naturally.

Whilst it was rewarding, I became extremely burnt out, anxious and my own health started to decline. It was during this time that I was guided to reflexology. Initially, it was about calming my own nervous system and finding balance. The more reflexology I received, the more notable the benefits became β™ŽοΈ

I wanted to be able to continue to support others but in a more holistic and nurturing way, whilst looking after my own wellbeing. This led to me training in reflexology. I now share this gentle complementary therapy.

🌿 I'm away from Wednesday 24th- Friday 26th taking a short family break in the Yorkshire dales. I will be resuming appointments from the 28th.

A combined early birthday celebration, alongside a solo hike doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks ⛰️ This will be my first big hike since Ben Nevis and my longest stint away from my Daughter. Feeling mentally prepared, but haven't got as much practice in as I would have liked to.

πŸŒ€ The solar plexus πŸŒ€

In reflexology the solar plexus is an important reflex point, and a key part of the nervous system. Stimulating this reflex can help promote relaxation, and help with stress related conditions.

Ever heard of the term '"butterflies in your stomach"? πŸ¦‹
The solar plexus is a cluster of nerves that connects to the abdomen, and is an essential part of the nervous system, and making up the gut-brain axis.

Reflexology for menopause 🌸

The menopause and associated symptoms can be a challenging time for any woman. Not only physical symptoms, but emotional shifts at this time also.

Women can experience night sweats, hot flashes, disturbed sleep, and brain fog amongst others. With the right support, there are ways to make the menopause more manageable.

Reflexology can be a good way to support a woman experiencing menopausal symptoms. By targeting specific reflex points, reflexology can help with hormonal balance β™ŽοΈ

Taking a holistic approach, we look at other lifestyle factors that can help support you alongside the reflexology itself. The menopause is a transitional time, and it can often mirror other life events for a woman. Together we can look at lifestyle, diet and exercise.

Please note that while I foster a holistic approach, complementary therapies work in harmony with allopathic treatment where needed, so always talk to your Doctor about your options.

As we enter a new month, make way for softer days.

The first signs of Autumn are here with the nights suddenly drawn in, and the morning chill πŸ‚ πŸŒ…

Make time for yourself, and prioritise self-care and wellbeing. Whether that's reading, enjoying a massage, or spending time in nature.

A good book I've just started reading is 'Wintering' by Katherine May πŸ“š It explores introspection in darker months.
