Yesterday I completed my first ever 10K! Anyone who knows me will know that running is not my strong point!
I once put my name down for an 800m race at school.. but by the time I hit the 400m mark, I was already negotiating with my legs for a "shorter more manageable distance." Let's just say I didn't quite make it around the track - though in my defence, I did set a world record for the fastest walk of shame! 🫠
Yesterday, I managed to leave my 14 year old self in the dust and actually complete the 10k race and it got me thinking. Training for a run is a lot like going through the process of aesthetic treatments.
Many people expect instant results, after just one treatment. I do get it, In a world where groceries arrive with just one click, why can’t pigmentation vanish after one session of microneedling? But unfortunately, there are no quick fixes when it comes to aesthetic treatments: it's all about commitment, consistency and the journey - just like training for a run.
At first, both can feel overwhelming. You start your run or your treatment, and you might feel like you’re not seeing results immediately. The first few steps, or sessions, are always the hardest. But just like building endurance for a race, with each km or treatment, you’re laying the groundwork for something bigger.
Training for a run isn’t about sprinting to the finish line right away. It’s about steady progress, pushing through those tough days, and trusting that little by little, you’re getting stronger. Similarly, with aesthetic treatments, the magic happens over time. That glowing skin, that smooth complexion, or that youthful contour doesn’t show up after one session. It’s the culmination of regular care, patience, and following through on the commitment you’ve made to yourself.
So whether you're training for a 10K or investing in a few rounds of treatments, remember: it’s not about instant gratification. It’s the slow, steady effort that gets you the results you want. Keep at it, trust the process, and soon enough you'll be crossing that finish line - looking and feeling better than ever! 🩷
