**NEW EPISODE**
I have been smiling about this conversation ever since we recorded it.
My friend and former HR colleague is one of those people who is quietly brilliant and very, very funny in an understated way.
She’s also refreshingly honest about the realities of being a writer.
At one point she said:
“The more I think about it, the more I’m not sure I’d recommend the life shift I’ve made to anyone.”
And yet… she keeps choosing it.
This episode is a proper behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to write books for a living. The waiting. The uncertainty. The spreadsheets (yes, really). The slightly obsessive checking of emails. And the times where it all feels both completely right and slightly ridiculous at the same time.
We also talk about her new book Vivian Dies Again (which I couldn’t put down).
It’s a murder mystery with a time loop, a very flawed main character, and Caroline’s signature dark humour running all the way through it.
And, of course, we cover the small controlling dog, who has very strong opinions about Caroline working from home.
If you love books, writing, or just honest conversations about making a life that makes sense to you, this one’s for you.
