Did you know? 2026 is the National Year of Reading.

If one of your New Year resolutions is to read a bit more, Hunt's Bookshop has got the perfect thing for you.

Its new Book Subscription is a straightforward way to enjoy good books without having to think too hard about what to choose.

Each month, their booksellers select a paperback and send it straight to your door, or to someone you’d like to treat.

It’s ideal if you enjoy discovering new reads, or if you want to make reading a regular habit this year.

1. Choose your genre
2. Choose how long you’d like to subscribe (3 months, 6 months or 12 months)
3. Receive a book each month

If you’d like help choosing the right subscription, or want to simply find out more, pop into the shop on High Street in Rugby town centre.

We're back in 2026 with our throwback series: Rugby Town Centre / Through the Years 🎬
Regent Cinema, Bank Street, 1930s ✨

The Regent Cinema opened in Rugby in the 1930s, showing films to local audiences for decades before closing and later being transformed into The Bank. From silver screens to pints and evenings out, the building has remained a staple in our community.

It has come to our attention that there are several parking ticket scams operating at present.

Warwickshire County Council does not send text messages regarding payment of Penalty Charge Notices.

PCN's are issued by affixing the notice to the vehicle's windscreen unless a Civil Enforcement Officer is prevented from issuing it, in which case the notice is sent by post.

When a PCN has been issued by Warwickshire County Council, the PCN number will start with the letters ZQ

The way to pay online is at www.warwickshire.gov.uk/parking (as well by post or telephone), and this information is provided printed on the Notice or in the Notice sent by post.

For more information about the PCN process visit https://www.patrol-uk.info/ and http://www.knowyourparkingrights.org/
