Because returning from maternity leave to full-time work and navigating life as a first-time mum to a little sass-pot wasn’t quite enough… 🤣
A few months ago, I quietly started a new venture and I’m finally ready to share it with you all! 💫

I continue to work in my role as a midwifery educator, which I’m still so passionate about. A few months ago, I launched a freelance clinical advisory service.

This years International Day of the Midwife 2025, is a special one for us at the . On Friday the held their Student Nursing Times Awards and our very own won Student Midwife of the Year 🎉 🩷

What an incredible achievement! From all of the Midwifery Team at the University of Plymouth, a huge congratulations, you should be SO proud 👏 we certainly are 🩷

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet on my social media recently, it’s been such a busy few months and juggling my two very exciting roles!

It’s s difficult time for the midwifery profession at the moment and with student applicant numbers reducing across England, I recently wrote a blog article for future student midwives.

Really excited to add a new chapter to my career. I’ve just started a secondment as a Maternity Clinical Fellow with Health Education England , in their South West regional team. It’s 3 days a week for 18-months. I’ll continue to work in my midwifery lecturer role for the other 2 days a week.

This is such an exciting opportunity for me to work with all maternity units across the South West. Can’t wait for all the new things I’m going to learn and seeing midwifery through a new lens!

Here’s to the next chapter 🎉

Figured I’ve not posted in AGES…so thought I’d share my new work set up. Finished renovating our new house and we were able to move in just before Christmas. It is SO nice to have a proper office and desk space, don’t know how I coped without it before!

It’s not finished and there is lots I’d like to do to make a cosy work environment.

Anyway, happy humpday 📚
