It’s great to see more research into acupuncture being published. And Magdalena, our acupuncturist, uses this sort of electro acupuncture too.

"Acupuncture in Medicine" is at the sharp end when it comes to publishing research into medical acupuncture.

The most-read paper in the journal right now is a randomised controlled trial comparing trigger point (TrP) dry needling, TrP electroacupuncture and motor point electroacupuncture of the trapezius muscle for the treatment of myofascial pain syndrome.

The evidence base continues to grow — and we’re proud to support science-backed practice at the British Medical Acupuncture Society. Our journal is available to all members of the Society, or subscribe now at https://journals.sagepub.com/home/AIM Journals

Stay curious. Stay clinical. Stay current.

What an evening! Ashgrove old and new got together in The Carriage House last night to say goodbye to Jo Jones and Kate Walton.

It was sad to say goodbye when Jo and Kate have been part of the gang for so long, but also such fun to have the team together outside of work.

It was especially lovely for all of us to see Janine our former Practice Manager again ❤🤩, and also to catch up with Julie, Ana, Helen and Sue who have also contributed massively to helping Ashgrove grow and thrive. 🤩

Tina Brayford also joined us, though personally I've still not forgiven her for leaving us!! 🤣🩷

For the rest of us, it was a great evening to have some fun outside of work, and to bump into a few of our patients, which is always nice.

It's not quite Jo's last day yet, so we'll wish Kate all the best and we'll save our goodbye to Jo for next week!

Very late Weekend News in which there is a new horse, a sore back, some fairies and a Golden Retriever.

💪 Mindfulness coach, Nicola Smith, had some wild weather at Portland Bill… including 155 steps to the top and some weight training in the old quarry. Look at her lifting that rock!

Steven and Claire made a mess (again). And Claire found her grandfather’s war photos and a new horse! 🤣

😫 Physiotherapist Pierre twisted when lifting the lawn mower and …..pulled his back.

Brooke and Aiya went to a cousins wedding in Manchester then went to Dumfries and Galloway, where they had floods, a puncture and winds that broke the tent.😫🌧🌬🌧

Georgina threw an early birthday party with a fairy theme just for fun!! 🧚🏻‍♀️✨

🥯🥯🥯 Osteo Ollie's dog Theo had a tough weekend exploring London and eating his way through Spitalfields market!

Aliénor made some beautiful tarts and introduced her puppy to physiotherapist Pierre, who has always claimed to not like dogs. Predictably he was smitten. 😍

And Jay celebrated growing his own potatoes! 🥔👏

Apologies for Weekend News being so late - the Ashgrove TV show side tracked me.

1 day until we go live! Claire is stressing about what to wear, Steven is re-doing our TV set, and the team are crossing their fingers that it will all be alright on the night (well, at lunchtime).

We've been running OsteopathyTV Live for 10 years, so we're old hands at this, but tomorrow is our first clinic show and some of us are a bit more nervous than normal. We hope you'll join us so Claire and Steven have someone to talk to and some questions to answer about your shoulder pain.

Live at 1pm tomorrow. Don’t miss it!

It was so nice to see that the Nene Valley News have taken such an interest in our local peregrine falcons. And what beautiful photos taken by Mick Large.

Hopefully next year the parents will come back and entertain us again, though I'm not sure they'll provide us with the brilliant pidge-peregrine stand off again!

Thanks for all the comments and support - we love being able to give you a way to watch this incredible birds. ❤️

I'm late posting the weekend news this week, but here we are - with sheep, Pimms and parrots!

Nicola, our Mindfulness practitioner was teaching at a mindfulness retreat in beautiful rural Leicestershire surrounded by many sheep! 🐑

👏 Steven and Claire passed their exams to get certificates in Business Coaching.

Claire changed part of a toilet cistern and went to a birthday party that involved wearing parrots! 🦜

Samantha (microdermabrasion) had a lovely meal at The Carriage House 🤩

🍺 😱 Aliénor had a long week-end in Wiltshire which featured a very big jug of Pimm’s and some lovely Golden Retriever photos that we're saving for later in the week!

Magdalena, our acupuncturist, took her boys to their first stadium gig - Imagine Dragons 🐉 - they said it was an incredible show!

We hope you had a great weekend too!

Would you have done it? Were you there 15 years ago? On this day 15 years ago our osteopath and former Royal Marine, Steven Bruce, organised for the cadets at to abseil down the lift tower. At the time the tower hadn't been used for abseiling for years. Our hypnotherapist and Mindset Coach, Christian Baker, worked with the teenagers so they could control their fear and step off the tower. Fear of heights is pretty common when the height is 127m (418ft) off the ground and you're asked to step off the edge.

Also part of the team was Steven's father (a former Royal Marine, aged 75), who bounced down like a gazelle. In brogue shoes! Both Steven and his father will tell you that Royals Marines are always dressed well. Even when abseiling. 💙

Well, that threw him! The team working our OsteopathyTV show completely threw osteopathy Steven when they inserted some text into the outro on his autocue!

And then they created an ai version of him. 🤣🤣

Happy Birthday for Saturday, Steven Bruce!
