Patellofemoral pain syndrome (runner’s knee)🏃♂️
This is one of the most common injuries we see in runners and active people.
👉 What is it?
Your kneecap (patella) should glide smoothly in a groove when you bend and straighten your knee.
With patellofemoral pain, that movement becomes slightly off — usually due to:
• Weak hip and thigh muscles
• Poor control of the knee during movement
• Doing too much, too soon (running, sport, gym)
The result?
❌ Extra stress behind the kneecap
❌ Irritation in the joint
❌ That dull, aching pain at the front of your knee
You’ll often feel it when:
• Running
• Going up/down stairs
• Squatting or lunging
• Sitting for long periods

👉 How we fix it
At our clinic, we focus on the **root cause — not just the symptoms**.
1️⃣ Calm the pain
We reduce irritation first with load management and hands-on treatment.
2️⃣ Fix movement
We assess how you run, squat, and move — then correct any poor mechanics.
3️⃣ Build strength where it matters
Targeted rehab for:
• Quads (to guide the kneecap)
• Glutes/hips (to control knee position)
4️⃣ Restore control
We retrain your body to move efficiently under load — especially for running and sport.
5️⃣ Return to sport safely
A structured plan to get you back to running without flare-ups.
