Here are 5 mindless eating habits you might be getting wrong 👀

As a trained nutritionist 🥗, I see these mistakes ALL the time — and they could be holding back your progress without you even realising.

If fat loss or results in the gym feel harder than they should… this might be why 👇

Let’s get into it…

1. Distraction eating - Eating while watching tv or on a phone or working while eating, distracts you from the fullness cues.

2. Emotional/Boredom Eating- Reaching for food to manage boredom, stress, sadness, or anxiety instead of physical hunger.

3. Environmental Cues - Eating because food is visible eg: finishing a plate simply because it is there.

4. Package Consumption - Eating directly from large bags or packaging, making it easy to lose track of portions.

5. Eating Too Fast - Rushing meals, doesn’t give your brain enough time to register that you are full, slow down and enjoy the meal!

Christmas is just around the corner… so finish the year strong!

This time of year can feel really busy and chaotic - but you shouldn’t have to choose between enjoying yourself this Christmas and staying fit and healthy!

I’m not saying you need to do loads to maintain your fitness over the holidays.

Short workout sessions still count, even if it’s only 20 minutes get up and get moving!

Food is the the backbone of Christmas, so enjoy it! You don’t need to be spending your holidays thinking about the calories you’ve consumed, or worrying about weight. It is a time to be with friends and family and relaxing!

A great way to stay fit and keep active over the holidays and to get back on track in the new year is by simply getting out and walking! You will be surprised how beneficial just walking will be!

It’s also a great head start for January, start adding small workouts and walks to your week to get the habits in place for the new year!

So whatever you are doing this festive season dedicate half hour to yourself, whether it’s a brisk solo walk or a gentle stroll with the family there’s nothing better than some crisp winter air.

Never underestimate the power of a 15-minute walk. 🚶‍♀️✨
It might seem small, but those steps add up — for your body and your mind. Just 15 minutes of walking can boost your mood, support heart health, improve circulation, and even spark creativity. 🧠💡

Whether it’s a break from your desk, a walk after dinner, or time to unplug and breathe, those few minutes of movement can shift your whole day.

Rest and recovery aren’t signs of weakness — they’re where real progress happens. 💆‍♂️💤
When we train, we break our bodies down. It’s during rest that we rebuild—stronger, faster, more resilient. Muscles repair, stress levels drop, and our nervous system gets a much-needed reset.

Without proper recovery, performance dips, injuries creep in, and burnout becomes real.
But when we prioritize rest — sleep, active recovery, hydration, mobility — we show up with more energy, more focus, and more results.

So take the rest day. Stretch. Sleep in. Breathe. Your body and mind will thank you. 🙌
Recovery is part of the grind. 🧠💪

There are many myths when it comes to lifting weights and putting on muscle, here a just a few I hear!

Building muscle isn’t just about looks — it’s about strength, health, and confidence. 💪 From boosting metabolism and protecting your bones to sharpening your mind and lifting your mood — the benefits go far beyond the gym.

Muscle isn’t just for flexing — it’s for the future. 💪 As we age, we naturally lose strength, balance, and bone density. But building muscle now means staying independent, injury-free, and full of energy later. You’re not just training for aesthetics — you’re training for longevity. What better time to start than now! Time to Proact don’t wait to react!

There are many people who believe they don’t need a personal trainer where really everyone could benefit from have one. Here are 5 reasons you could benefit from a personal trainer:

Reason 1- consistency: Personal trainers are a brilliant way to stay consistent. By having a personal trainer booked in you have a commitment to making sure you go to your sessions. A big motivator is that you would have paid for the session so if you cancel you are just wasting the money.

Reason 2- motivation: By having someone there who has your best interests at heart can help you to progress. It is very easy in the gym to not push yourself to your full ability. By having a personal trainer there they will not allow you to do anything less than your best effort.

Reason 3- Educational: Lots of people avoid getting a personal trainer because they “know what they are doing”. This is a valid reason if you have years of experience within fitness training, however, personal trainers have the qualification and have industry experience. Even if you have years of experience in fitness there is always new techniques coming to light that personal trainers are more likely to be keeping up to date with. Even if you have years of experience you may still learn something.

Reason 4- Injury prevention: No matter how much experience you have in the gym bad habits can occur. By having someone there who knows what good form looks like will benefit you and reduce the chances of injury. Even the smallest tweak to form can help to prevent injury and help work towards your goal.

Reason 5- Mental health benefits: Even if you only see your personal trainer once a week it can help massively to reduce your stress. Personal trainers are a great way to get all of your problems out. Personal trainers are not just focussed on your physical health but your overall health and are working to make sure you are at your best. The main goal training with us is that you leave in a better way than you arrived.
