Role play is a crucial part in childrens development. It helps to nurture their imagination, creativity and complex skills like problem solving, empathy and communication when acting out scenarios.

We love to let our imaginations run wild with the home corner and the dolls creating endless play for the children.

Let’s make a Christmas Tree! 🎄

This activity was full of festive fun using fine motor skills to peel and stick decorations onto the tree. We looked at the different colours and shapes of the trees and decorations.

Little Beans Childminding has moved!
We are now located in Great Dunmow.

Little Beans Childminding is a small intimate setting for 0-3 year olds allowing your little ones to learn through play. We follow the EYFS and encourage child development to allow each and every child the best start in life. We focus on all aspects of learning and developement including activities such as crafts, baking, imaginative play and intellectual play.

We have limited spaces available for 2026 with funded spaces available from April. Please get in touch if you would be interested in a space or would like to book a visit to the setting.

International Day of Play..

Play is a powerful part of learning and at Little Beans Childming, play is an important part of the day. We allow imaginations to run wild and allow the children to grow confidently, building relationships as they go.

Today we celebrated International Day of Play by exploring the sand tray and turning it in to a construction site making marks in the sand and feeling the sand beneath our hands and feet.

Our theme in March was Down on The Farm and we had lots of fun exploring all the different animals and things to do on the farm.

We learnt about what noises the animals made and talked about big and small and loud and quiet.

We even had a day out to the local farm to see the animals and experience feeding the goats.

Our theme for February was Love and Kindness.
We had fun learning about all the ways we can be kind to each other and explored emotions and feelings.

We also explored mark making with the sand, building sand castles and creating pictures using stamps and talked about the colours and shapes.

It’s a great day for a picnic! We had lots of fun exploring the shapes and sorting food for our picnic! We learnt about the different shapes and matched them to the shapes on the plate to create the perfect picnic with our favourite foods.

Who is Little Beans Childminding?

Hello! My name is Claire and I run Little Beans Childminding in Saffron Walden.

I have 16 years experience working with children in nurseries and as a nanny. I have a Level 2 in Child Care Learning and Development, Level 4 Child Psychology, Paediatric First Aid and DBS.

I am trained in the EYFS and Safeguarding and all areas related to childcare to ensure a safe and fun environment for your little ones to play and learn in.

After having my daughter in October 2023, I decided to further my career into childminding.
I am registered with Suffolk Childcare Agency who is regulated by Ofsted.
