I cannot stress enough how important a creative outlet is when dealing with a mental illness.
~ if you cannot draw; get a colouring book
~ if you cannot write; journal
~ if you cannot sing; listen to music
~ if you cannot dance; move your body - walk - run - yoga.
Sometimes our thoughts and emotions feel like a heavy weight, a dark presence is looming in our body.
You have to take hold of the pain and give it a place to live that’s not within your body. Let it live in art, let it live in writing, let it live in music, let it live in movement;
“Your body is not a coffin for pain to be buried in. Put it somewhere else” 🙏🏼🧘🏻♀️
