Today I saw children in hospital beds who should be running, laughing, chasing waves and climbing trees.
Some of them were attached to machines.
Some of them were in pain.
Some of them were facing battles no child should ever have to face.
And yet… they smiled and joked.
They waved at strangers.
They thanked the nurses.
They laughed.
Not because their world was easy, but because their spirit was still intact.
It hit me hard.
We are born resilient.
We are born hopeful.
We are born strong.
Somewhere along the way, life teaches us fear.
It layers us with worry, shame, disappointment and loss.
It tells us we are not enough.
It tells us to protect ourselves, to shrink, to survive instead of live.
And slowly, without even realising, we forget who we were before the world taught us how to break.
But those children… they reminded me.
They reminded me that resilience is not something we have to find, it is something we remember.
If you were once brave, you can be brave again.
If you were once hopeful, you can be hopeful again.
If you were once full of light, that light is not gone, it is only covered.
And yes, sometimes looking for the good feels impossible.
Sometimes the darkness feels louder than anything else.
But even the smallest spark still counts.
Even the tiniest smile still matters.
Even choosing to try again is an act of courage.
We were all once capable of being who we are now striving to become.
And if we’ve been it once…
we can be it again.
Be the light, be the change. And, honestly, when you feel the shift inside of you, it is impossible to ignore. Run with it! 🥰🙏🧘♂️
