Counselling is a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space to explore what's going on in your life now, what's hurting you or just doesn't feel right. If you are struggling to make sense of your life, your relationships or losses, therapy is where you can talk about it safely in a warm, empathic space. The counselling relationship can help you make changes, explore your patterns, your past, the things that you don't understand about yourself or others. Perhaps what happened in the past is still affecting you, whether you thought you were over it, or whether you've never been able to talk about it. What you want for your future; what you want to change to feel happier or more at home in yourself, your relationships and your life. Counselling can help you change how you relate to others and express yourself, feel more confident to be the real you, and find some peace with your past by working through it together. Big life events like bereavement, trauma, relationship breakdown or job loss can make us feel like we need to reassess our lives. They can also cause us a great deal of pain, depression, stress and anxiety. Sometimes we don't even realise it, we just feel low or angry, we sleep too much or not enough, we drink too much, drive too fast, stop talking to friends or doing the things we used to enjoy. Sometimes we think it might be better if we weren't even here... Talking to a qualified counselling therapist is a really positive step towards feeling better, feeling connected and starting to really live again.
