Mobilisation Mondays 🐎

Today, focusing on a pelvic rounding 💪

By encouraging a posterior pelvic tilt, this exercise activates the deep abdominal stabilisers, supports lumbosacral flexion, and helps reduce load through the lumbar spine.

The result: improved core stability, posture, and more effective hindlimb engagement.

I always make sure I’m palpating my own horse’s back as soon as I take the saddle off 🐴

I’m looking for things like:

🔹areas of tension or tightness
🔹heat or sensitivity to pressure
🔹changes in muscle tone or symmetry
🔹any subtle reactions that might indicate discomfort

These small changes are often the first sign that something isn’t quite right. Staying on top of it early makes all the difference because prevention will always be better than rehab !!

Ever wondered why we use a forelimb protraction stretch? 🐴

Here’s a visual breakdown of some of the key muscles being targeted because effective stretching starts with understanding anatomy.

Remember: stretches should only be done on warm muscles and with advice from a qualified therapist 🤩
