Hello and welcome to ThePlymouthCounsellor.co.uk
People come for counselling and psychotherapy for a variety of reasons some of which include, personal and professional goals or issues such as; Stress, Anxiety, Abuse, Bereavement, Anger, Panic, Depression, Sexuality, Assault, Self esteem, Relaxation and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Counselling and Psychotherapy can provide an opportun
ity for you to talk about your feelings in privacy with someone trained to listen and reflect on what is being said. It can enable you to become aware of new choices and ways to resolve problems and lead to greater self-knowledge as well as improve relationships with others. The aim of counselling and psychotherapy is to help the client make sense of what is happening in their lives and to assist and support them in working through their difficulties. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy or CBT stresses the importance of behaving in ways that challenge negative thoughts and unhelpful beliefs. CBT helps you examine some of the beliefs you have about yourself, to see your situation in different ways and to build up coping skills. EMDR works on the unconscious processes of the mind and for full information please see my full website. About me;
