People come for counselling, psychotherapy, CBT or EMDR for a variety of reasons some of which include, personal and professional goals or issues such as; Stress, Anxiety, Abuse, Bereavement, Anger, Panic, Depression, Sexuality, Assault, Self-esteem, Relaxation and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Counselling and psychotherapy can provide an opportunity for you to talk about your feelings in privacy with someone trained to listen and reflect on what is being said. It can enable you to become aware of new choices and ways to resolve problems and lead to greater self-knowledge as well as improve relationships with others.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy or CBT stresses the importance of behaving in ways that challenge negative thoughts and unhelpful beliefs. CBT helps you examine some of the beliefs you have about yourself, to see your situation in different ways and to build up coping skills.
EMDR works on the unconscious processes of the mind and takes a different approach to traditional talking therapies. For full information please see my full website at www.plymouth-counselling.org.uk or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yh1OoOG2WEg&feature=youtu.be
The aim of counselling, psychotherapy, CBT and EMDR is to help the client make sense of what is happening in their lives and to assist and support them in working through their difficulties. I am able to assist clients to clarify and accomplish personal and professional goals and work with them on issues such as stress, abuse, anger, assault, confidence, self-esteem, anxiety, bereavement, panic, trauma, s*xuality and relationship issues.

About Supervision or Consultation
My aim is to provide a safe and confidential place for you to identify practice and professional developmental issues and for you to reflect upon and explore your work.
My hope is to provide a space where you can offload, learn, laugh, experiment, gain support, feedback and generally reflect.
I would like you to feel able to share your thoughts, feelings, professional issues and concerns with me and for you to be able to present your work in a self-selected way. In order to do this, I tend to use Page & Wosket’s Cyclical Model of Supervision which provides a ‘container’ to do this in.
