Today, Matt & Sara from the Griffiths & Booth Funeral Directors team were proud to support our local Memory Café. 💙

It was a wonderful opportunity to spend time with members of the community living with memory loss, along with their families and carers, over a cup of tea, conversation, and companionship.

Community support means so much to us, and we’re always grateful to be part of events that bring people together in such a caring and welcoming environment.

This week marks Dying Matters Awareness Week (4–10 May) 🕊️ – a time to open up conversations around death, dying and grief.

At Griffiths and Booth Sandbach, we know these conversations aren’t always easy 🤍. But they matter. Talking openly can help families feel more prepared, supported, and less alone when the time comes.

This year’s theme, “Let’s talk about death and dying,” encourages all of us to start those important conversations with the people around us 💬. Because when we talk, we break down stigma and make space for understanding and compassion.

Talking about death isn’t something most of us feel comfortable doing.
In fact, many families avoid the conversation altogether.

But even a small chat today can make a big difference tomorrow 💛

You don’t have to have all the answers. It could start with something simple like:
– “Have you ever thought about what you’d want?”
– “Is there any music you love that you’d want played?”

If you’re not sure where to begin, there’s some really helpful guidance from Dying Matters, who are dedicated to helping people feel more comfortable talking about death and dying.

There’s no perfect way to start the conversation—just starting is enough.
