Taking a moment to reflect on this past week - it was really tough as I was struggling with a cold courtesy school germs and it was also filled with some pretty meaningful moments:
📖 providing clinical supervision
👩🏽‍💻 1:1 therapy sessions
🎉 celebrating a final session with a client
☕️ welcoming a new client
🧠 EMDR supervision
🤱🏽 providing our weekly group session on .app
🍿Friday night movie night with my family

The highlight was attending the Equitable Bereavement Care Conference as an exhibitor. It was wonderful meeting such incredible women and organisations sharing the same passion and drive. I gave out tea bags and loom bands that my daughter very kindly made - and encouraged everyone to make time for a mindful cuppa. Thank you and for creating this vital space.

Time goes by so fast and sometimes on weeks like these when I’ve been poorly it can feel like I’m just a coughing machine - which is I take some time to reflect on my week, the tricky bit and the lovely bits because these are the moments in our lives.

Every 4-6 sessions, I’ll pause to check in and ask: “How is this going for you? Is what we’re doing helpful? What would make this better?”

Because here’s the thing - therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and what works really well for one person might not land for another. Your honest feedback isn’t just welcome, it’s essential.

These check-ins aren’t just to talk about what’s working well, they’re also about making sure YOU feel heard, supported, and like we’re genuinely moving toward what matters to you.

Therapy works best when it’s a partnership. So if something’s not feeling right, if you’re stuck, or if you’re wondering “is this even helping?” - I want to know as then we can find what actually works for YOU.

You deserve therapy that feels like it fits✨

Feeling overwhelmed isn’t a sign you’re doing life wrong. It’s often a sign you’ve been doing too much, for too long, without support.

Therapy is your space to pause. To make sense of the noise. To learn that taking care of yourself isn’t selfish - it’s essential.

Whether it’s anxiety keeping you up at night, mum guilt weighing heavily, or just feeling overwhelmed with everything - you deserve support that meets you exactly where you are.

It may be be that you’ve noticed things feel a bit off or maybe you’re choosing to be proactive - whatever the reason for you deciding to access therapy, I’d love to support you on your journey whenever you’re ready.

Therapy and choosing a therapist can feel like a bit of a minefield.

So I thought I’d take some time this week to simplify it for us☺️

The first step for most of us is *noticing* that we feel overwhelmed, sad, anxious or maybe losing interest in things that we usually enjoy. Then comes the biggest step of all - reaching out for support.

Whether you choose to work with me or another therapist, please always ensure that your therapist is accredited✨

A warm hello from me on this Halloween 🎃 👻

I’ve had some lovely enquiries coming through about working together so I thought I’d share a few real human aspects of therapy with me ✨

1️⃣ Noticing and giving you credit
2️⃣ I tear up and get goosebumps like you 🥺
3️⃣ I love an virtual high 5 ✋🏾 (does that show my age?)

Therapy has some pretty tough moments but it also holds space for giggles, goosebumps and tears. I will sit with you through it all - we won’t try to push away or avoid the tricky stuff.

A bit of a different Saturday as I have company 👧🏽

We’ve talked about:
🤩 what she felt really happy about
😔 what made her sad this week
🥴 what felt tricky for her

We also talked about how she felt sad AND brave for trying spaghetti hoops the cafe ran out our of baked beans 😬 we also noticed that she felt disgust when she didn’t like the taste 🤭

We both wish you a wonderful weekend and hope you can lean into the noticing and curiosity 💭
