One thing I’m doing more of this year is BAKING🧁

When my daughter was diagnosed with multiple food allergies (dairy, eggs, peanuts and tree nuts) as a baby, I chose to make cakes with the lemons life handed me. By no means am I a fancy baker … but I have learned to make some delicious allergy-friendly treats.

So when I was asked to contribute to a couple months ago on hobbies to your wellbeing, I spoke from the heart ❤️

Whether you’re settling in on your couch for family movie night, having a meal out or trying to quietly slip out of your little one’s room undetected, take a moment this weekend to ask yourself this one question:

What do I want to connect more with this year
🪫 what drains me?
or
🔋 what energizes me?

And hold in mind …
💡 what lights you up
⚖️ what weighs you down

As a therapist, I know it’s not as easy as to “pick a side” but when I heard this song it reminded me of the choice point (a concept from Acceptance & Commitment Therapy I often talk about in sessions): a moment in time when you can choose behavior that moves you toward your values or behavior or one that moves you away from them ✨

As we step into 2026, I’m not making resolutions. Because honestly, they just add more pressure and stress.

Instead, I’m thinking about what I want to hold close.

Like continuing to be intentional, choosing to be present and nurturing connections that feel aligned. Building a life and a private practice rooted in my values where authenticity shines through.

So, I invite you to take a moment to ask yourself:
What am I choosing to hold close this year?

I’d love to hear what matters most to you as we begin this new chapter.
