Yesterday I had the absolute pleasure to be shown around the two sites of Involve Active in Waveney. A fantastic non for profit organisation that offers a community engagement project, where families can access services and activities to support the needs of their children, young people and adults. It was lovely and inspiring to meet Bev & Jennie and seeing first hand what is happening there, I also met some very happy young adults enjoying their day. The opportunities for those with support needs is unique and there’s even opportunities to camp out and stay. I highly recommend getting in touch if you know of anyone that would benefit.

Today saw the final and sixth East Suffolk Dementia Roadshow, this time in Felixstowe. Over the past few months along with other services we’ve help supported those with memory concerns in many rural areas and villages. There is some great support in east Suffolk for those in need and it’s been really positive to be able to share that with others. I’ve also really enjoyed teaming up with Stuart, Corinne, Rob, Sam, & Sharon M to help make it a success and we’ve learnt so much across all of them. At the The Seagull Theatre in Pakefield, every Friday at 10:30am it is Music For Wellbeing. A fantastic morning of fun, singing, biscuits and tea. The Seagull has become a brilliant location for those in the community with many different sessions across the week. Big thank you to Helen and Liz for letting me meet everyone and join in. Not too sure on my singing skills but I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

I was recently asked by the NSFT Recovery College to deliver two talks across three weeks to groups that are awaiting or recently diagnosed and living with dementia and memory concerns. This was at Lowestoft Library and my talks were focused on community and what brilliant access to groups, services and support is available in the community. Big thank you to Sarah for inviting me and allowing to meet everyone.
