On Monday I had the pleasure of attending the Bedfield and Monk Soham Community Hub for the Care Cafe, which is the first and third Monday every month. Yesterday we visited Suffolk Food Museum in Stowmarket for a lovely tour, lunch and away day for all things community engagement. Despite visiting twice before for events, I had no idea there was so much there to learn, enjoy and see. Thanks to everyone who made the day enjoyable whilst also working on our community plans for this year. Food Museum

Today was the launch of the new Dementia Cafe at Carlton Court, in Poppy’s Cafe. It was lovely to be there and see everyone throughout the morning. The cafe will be on the last Wednesday of every month. This month visited for some chair based exercises which everyone joined in. Lovely friendly team looking after everyone.

It was great and insightful to attend the Apollo Networking Breakfast at the Imperial Hotel in Great Yarmouth this morning. Some really good work going into helping those find a career in care. It was also lovely to meet so many working across the Norfolk/Suffolk border, some positive stories and interesting speakers.

Yesterday I was at the One Stop Health and Wellbeing Event at Waterlane Leisure Centre
Fantastic number of stalls from services across Waveney. Big well done to Samantha & Lisa Victoria Road GP Surgery for making this happen. It was lovely to meet and speak to so many people as well as seeing many familiar faces too. Starting the new year with Strength and Balance. Big thank you to Sophie Wood Back In The Groove, for letting me join the Bungay session, which is every Thursday from 10am. A great test of my balance! It was lovely to hear from participants how much the class has benefited them and what Otago can do to improve those living with conditions or in recovery.

At this Christmas we organised a coffee, hot chocolate and cake morning to raise money for for their community larder along with donations of food for this Christmas. We managed to fill four large sacks with food donations as well as raising almost £150 to help those this Christmas. Well done to all team and Hannah S for her hard work making it happen. Well done team.

Yesterday was Christmas Community appearance on the Community Hour with Mark Jepson. .engagement joined me for her first appearance and she was great of course.
We were able to share some exciting community projects we’ve been involved with and talk all things Christies and Christmas! Thanks for having us!

It was lovely to welcome our clients from the Saxmundham and surrounding areas for a Christmas get together. We were joined throughout the morning by clients, families, carers and Christies Care Ltd team. We had Christmas activities, mulled wine and warm mince pies as well as some festive music and decorations too.
