🎉 We’re so proud to have nominated Mick Thompson for the 2025 BBC Make a Difference Awards!
At 85 years young, Mick is a true inspiration — a tireless volunteer, fundraiser, and pillar of the Scarborough running community. From running 500 miles in 50 days to completing countless marathons and cross-country races, his energy is nothing short of remarkable. 🏃♂️💪
He’s also a proud RAF veteran (1957–1982) — known back then as “Rocky Thompson”.

🎉☀️ What a wonderful day at Saint Cecilia’s Care Home! ☀️🎉
On Tuesday, we had our annual Summer Fair and the garden came alive with music, laughter, and a little bit of mischief! 🎶😄 Our brave Managing Director Aaron and Care Assistant Angus took centre stage for a good old-fashioned soaking – with wet sponges and whipped cream flying their way! 💦🥧👏
Guests tucked into the most delicious Mad Hatter–inspired cakes and refreshments while enjoying some live music that had everyone singing along. 🎤🍰
Our residents, families, and care team all had a fantastic time – a true afternoon of fun, laughter, and memories to treasure. 💛

☀️🍦 Last Saturday in Pickering was all about sunshine, smiles, and summer fun at Alba Rose. 🎶🌸
Our residents, families, and friends enjoyed a day full of laughter, plenty of chit chat, and some fabulous live tunes from Martin the Music Man! 🎤💃
And what’s a summer fayre without a sweet treat? 🍦 The wonderful Velo Ice Cream Company rolled up to keep everyone cool and happy on a perfect late summer’s afternoon.

With your amazing support, we raised over £200 through our raffle and every penny will go towards making life at Jubilee House even more special for our residents. 💛

She was joined by her son Phil, daughter-in-law Caroline and our wonderful care team. Wendy also enjoyed some fabulous birthday cake 🍰 - look how tasty it looks!

Our Saint Cecilia's Care Home residents went for gold last week with an afternoon of friendly competition, featuring New Age Kurling and Boccia.
There were plenty of laughs, some very impressive skills on display… and yes, even our care team couldn’t resist getting stuck in! 🙌
A brilliant day of teamwork, cheerleading, and a little bit of healthy rivalry – medals in fun all round! 🏆✨

Alba Rose
The latest addition to the Saint Cecilia’s family, Alba Rose is a care home in the picturesque town of Pickering. It provides professional and dedicated care for up to 22 older people.
