🎉 Celebrating 6 Wonderful Years! 🎉
Today we’re giving a big shoutout to the amazing Jane at Saint Cecilia’s Nursing Home as she celebrates 6 fantastic years with us! 🥳
Over the years, Jane has been a huge part of what makes our nursing home such a warm, caring and special place. Her kindness, dedication and the smiles she brings to residents and colleagues alike never go unnoticed.
Thank you, Jane, for everything you do and for helping make Saint Cecilia’s such a wonderful home for everyone who lives and works here 💐

Don't Forget!
This Sunday, we're coming together as a community to pause, reflect, and honour.
The Service of Reflection will take place at 2pm at St Mark’s Church, Coldyhill Lane, Scarborough.
We invite local residents, NHS staff, and carers to join this free gathering - a quiet space to remember those we’ve lost, to acknowledge the dedication of those who care, and to reflect on the challenges we’ve faced together.
In a world that often moves too fast, this is a chance to stop, breathe, and share in collective remembrance.

There’s been some fun and creative activities over at Saint Cecilia’s Nursing Home this week 🎨🌷
The residents have been busy getting stuck into some arts and crafts – and let’s just say the squirty paint had a mind of its own!
Our green-fingered residents also spent some time planting bulbs ready for spring and we can’t wait to see the flowers pop up in the coming weeks 🌱🌼
From colourful crafts to a little gardening, it’s been another lovely week filled with creativity, laughter and teamwork.
Well done everyone!

Last week, residents from Saint Cecilia's Care Home had a wonderful time enjoying a Dementia Friendly version of the original Mary Poppins film, at the Stephen Joseph Theatre 🎬✨
These specially adapted screenings create such a warm and welcoming environment, making the magic of the movies accessible for everyone.
Thank you to the Stephen Joseph Theatre for their ongoing commitment to being dementia friendly and for making such a positive difference in our local community. We’re so grateful to have such a fantastic venue on our doorstep 💙

Join Us to Remember, Reflect & Give Thanks 🤍
A special Service of Reflection has been organised by local community businesses, including G Roberts Independent Funeral Directors and Saint Cecilia's Care Group, taking place this Sunday 8th March at 2pm at St Mark’s Church, Coldyhill Lane, Scarborough, YO12 6SD.
The Covid-19 pandemic touched every one of us. It changed lives, challenged our town, and heartbreakingly took loved ones from so many families.
This service is an opportunity to:
✨ Remember those we have lost
✨ Honour our incredible key workers and volunteers
✨ Reflect on the strength and resilience of our community
Whether you experienced loss, worked on the frontline, or simply wish to stand together in quiet reflection - you are warmly invited.
Let’s come together as a community to remember and support one another. 🤍

Well… today’s Tea Dash may have been postponed ☕️… but that just means we get to share some lovely moments from yesterday instead!
At the wonderful Normanby House, residents took their tea duties very seriously - carefully deliberating over their choice of cake (a very important decision, of course 🍰) and weighing up the ultimate question… one sugar or three?
Luckily, our Managing Director Aaron was on hand to serve up the perfect brew! 💛
Thank you to everyone who made their donations yesterday. Every penny goes towards Aaron’s fundraising for Dementia UK and thank you to the Normanby House team, who helped keep the residents and families entertained while Aaron carefully poured each cup.

Well… Aaron’s much-anticipated Tea Dash at Jubilee House in Whitby has been steeped in a slight delay ☕
The event has been postponed, with a new date TBC – but don’t worry, we promise it’ll be worth the weight (in mini cakes). 🎂
Keep your eyes peeled for the new date 👀

The Tea Dash rolls in to Whitby… and the next stop is Jubilee House Nursing Home! ☕🏃♂️🍰
Our Managing Director Aaron is continuing his Tea Dash challenge tomorrow at 3pm, bringing plenty of energy (and hopefully not too many spillages!) as he serves up tea and treats to our wonderful residents.
This is all part of Aaron’s fundraising journey in support of Dementia UK, and every cuppa poured is helping to raise vital funds for families affected by dementia.
💙 Friends and family are very welcome to join us at Jubilee House in Whitby to cheer Aaron on, enjoy the atmosphere and show your support.
Earlier this month, we were delighted to welcome Tristram Gardner, Deputy CEO and Nichola Greenwood, Locality Manager of Skills for Care at our Normanby House and Saint Cecilia's Care Homes.
It was a valuable opportunity for our teams to share their experiences, discuss the pressing challenges facing social care, and highlight how these issues impact daily life within our homes.
Tristram and Nichola also spent time speaking with residents and meeting colleagues to gain first-hand insight into the incredible work taking place across our services.
The visit concluded at Head Office, where they met with our Managing Director, Aaron Padgham, to continue important conversations about the future of social care and workforce development.
Thank you to Tristram and Nichola for taking the time to visit and engage with our teams – we truly appreciate your support and collaboration

We’ve been looking back through the photos and wow… it’s been a busy one!
From lacing up our trainers for the Pancake Day Run, to plenty of pancake flipping fun back at the Nursing Home (yes, there were some very impressive flips from both residents and staff 👏), it’s been full of smiles and syrup!
But the kindness didn’t stop there… 💛
We also sprinkled a little extra joy with some Random Acts of Kindness - handing out chocolates and sponsoring coffees across Whitby, Pickering and Scarborough. There’s nothing better than seeing someone’s face light up over a surprise treat ☕🍫
Take a look at some of our favourite moments from a fantastic week! 📸✨

Our Managing Director Aaron kept up his Tea Dash fundraising with a visit to Alba Rose Care Home in Pickering yesterday!
As part of his journey toward the London Marathon, Aaron is raising money for Dementia UK – and what better way to do it than serving up scrumptious cakes and delicious tea to our wonderful residents? ☕🍰
There were plenty of smiles, second helpings (of course!) and lots of chat as Aaron made his way around with the trolley. It’s safe to say his customer service skills are just as strong as his marathon training! 🏃♂️💙
If you’d like to support Aaron on his road to 26.2 miles and help raise funds for such an incredible cause, just follow this link:https://loom.ly/9pfgFf4
