Amazonite 🩵

Optimism – Light-hearted – Compassion

I truly love working with this stone, it has such a light and sweet feel to it. It reminds me not to take life too seriously and to tread gently. There’s a real sense of optimism and hope that I get from working with it and wearing it – perfect for the transition from Winter into Spring ❄️ 🌸

I have found it to have such a soothing effect on my emotions and that it helps to enhance feelings of compassion towards self and others. It is linked to both the heart & throat chakras due to its lovely green-blue hues so can also aid communicating with love and understanding.

The Hanged Man - Pisces 🧿

The 12th card of the Major Arcana represents the 12th sign of the zodiac, Pisces, in the Tarot. It is an homage to the Norse Allfather, Odin, who hung from the Tree of Life for nine days in order to be able to truly “see.” This sacrifice was in exchange for being able to read the runes – an enigmatic set of symbols that work as powerful tools for foresight and being able to see into the future.

This gift was not granted without the waiting. The painful in between. Both The Hanged Man and Pisces are symbolic of a period of incubation before a portal. Astrologically, the season of Pisces wraps up the year, and in the Tarot, the card that follows it in the Major Arcana is Death – the ultimate portal.

I always see this card as the divine pressing pause, when I pull it for someone it indicates a period of standing still and non-movement. It is a time where we are being prepared, a waiting room before we transition into a new phase in our lives. A period that forces us to look upside down, to see things from a different perspective as our current approach might have us hitting brick walls.

I won’t pretend it’s not a frustrating card or energy. It is. As humans we want things done, and we want them done yesterday. The Hanged Man and Pisces know the feeling of sacrifice that comes with transitions. The time it takes to acquire a new perspective. The Hanged Man process is a vital part of the journey of rebirth and can’t be skipped (as much as I wish it could be!).

Like everything else. It is a transition - the waiting won’t last forever. Aries season is coming, Spring is coming. Pisces prepares and paves the way.

Surrender - Tarot for Pisces season 🐠

The overarching energy of this reading was that of frustration. Right now you may be feeling the insatiable need to focus, buckle down and take action. In which direction? Who knows! Who cares! Just this relentless impatience to not be where you currently are. This feeling is only magnified by the fact that, despite this exasperation, no movement is forthcoming. You may be at the point of falling on your knees and conceding that, sometimes, we can’t be in control and simply give in.

Temperance is the giving in. It is surrendering to the flow and accepting that the universe knows best. Accepting that sometimes, despite our greatest efforts, we’re just not meant to forging forwards right now. That this non-movement has purpose (the most frustrating thing about it is that we will only understand why it was necessary with the privilege of hindsight!). Pisces is the final sign of the zodiac, and the final stretch of the astrological year. It is a time of reflection. It’s calling us to have patience, to alchemise and reclaim our balance. Only then will our pathway clear. Only then will we see the Ace of Swords in all its glory and a breakthrough occur.

This is for you if you’ve been feeling as if all you’ve faced in recent months are setbacks. As if there’s this permanent cloud above your head blocking your vision and clarity. If you are feeling the pangs of defeat and as if you can do nothing but hold yourself back.

Have faith. Have patience says Temperance. When nothing is happening, everything is happening. Surrender to the flow this Pisces season and watch as the clarity starts to shine through and part the clouds ⛅️

Pink Amethyst 💕

Self-Compassion – Love – Resolution

This gentle, heart-based stone is all about self-love, serenity and supporting us in reducing the judgement of ourselves and others. It’s a quartz, so it naturally amplifies feelings of love, understanding and compassion.

For me, Pink Amethyst is the perfect companion for opening the heart chakra, specifically after times of loss. This particular variety of Amethyst helps to heal your emotional body and is a great stone to work with if you are currently experiencing a broken heart or if you are keen to mend any rifts in your relationships. It is a stone of reciprocity: Pink Amethyst reminds us that we can’t just give love, we also need to be open and feel worthy enough to receive it.  

I have found it call to me when I need to be gentler with myself and others, when I’m feeling that ache in the heart space. Like a mother’s hug, working with Pink Amethyst has helped to soothe feelings of doubt or lack of self-worth and grounds me in the fact that recovery and healing take time. Pink Amethyst wants us to remember that we are our greatest investment. If our heart is not open, we can’t willingly receive life’s blessings.

The Star – Aquarius 💫

Aquarius, known as ‘The Water Bearer,’ rules the 11th House in Astrology. It is a sign known for its eccentricity, love of personal freedom, technological nature and humanitarianism. The words associated with this sign are “I know.” Ruled by Uranus, the great awakener, there’s always the sniff of unpredictability where Aquarius season is concerned…

The Star comes after The Tower in the Major Arcana, symbolising renewal and healing after the destruction of its predecessor. It is about hope and faith returning after an experience that shakes us to the very core. It often symbolises a time where we are watering our own garden, giving back to ourselves and starting to recognise how the shake up from The Tower has set us free and enabled us a greater sense of personal freedom.

This imagery reminds us that by staying true to ourselves and sharing our gifts, we can inspire transformation not only in ourselves, but also within the collective. Like the Star, Aquarius inspires us to think beyond the present and connect with our higher purpose. So, during these final nights under an Aquarian sky, how can you dream your way towards the future and dare to reach the stars?
