Is Your Child’s Fussy Eating Linked to a Nutrient Deficiency? 🤔🍽️
Struggling with picky eating? It might not just be preference—it could be a sign of vitamin or mineral deficiencies affecting appetite and food choices! 🥦🚫
Here are some key nutrients that play a role in hunger and taste perception:
🔹 Zinc – Supports taste and smell! A deficiency can make food seem bland, leading to food refusal. (Found in meat, seeds, and nuts!) 🌰🥩
🔹 Iron – Low levels can cause fatigue and reduced appetite. Look for iron-rich foods like spinach, lentils, and red meat! 🥩🥬
🔹 Vitamin B12 – Essential for energy and nerve function; deficiency can lead to poor appetite and fussiness. 🥚🧀
🔹 Magnesium – Helps regulate mood and appetite. Low levels may cause irritability and food aversions! 🍌🥑
🔹 Omega-3s – Support brain health and may help with sensory food aversions. Try adding oily fish, walnuts, or flaxseeds! 🐟🌱
