Exercise is often seen as an indulgence, something you only do if you "have the time".

If you share this mindset, and you only fit in exercise when all the housework is done, when the kids have had their needs met, when you have been to work, when you've done the shopping etc then you need to think again.

All of those "more important" tasks will be harder and harder to maintain when you neglect your own health, and a huge part of health is movement, mobility, strength, balance...which are achieved through exercise.

MAKE THE TIME.

Whether it's a walk around the block, taking a class, you tube HIIT sessions or even dancing, invest time NOW in exercise to prevent the following...

Muscle loss
Increased blood pressure
Breathlessness
Cardiovascular disease
Type 2 diabetes
Bone deficiencies, and fractures
Anxiety
Depression
Reduced memory function.

The recommended amount of exercise adults should take is 30mins activity each day, plus at least 2 resistance training sessions per week (which includes bodyweight).

Get moving.

Pilates will give you the foundation you need to retain flexibility and strength now, and throughout your life.
We work on bone and joint health, spinal strength, stability and flexibility; breathing and how to use your breathing for physical and mental health. We work on muscle strength and stretch as well as balance and coordination.
This class is accessible for pre and post natal women, orthopaedic conditions, and general aches and pains, as well as for athletes and sports people looking to improve performance - or if you just want to start something new - as a qualified exercise referral specialist I can adjust your movements to support underlying conditions and injuries.

Come and have a FREE trial class over the summer. If you've never tried Pilates before this is a great way to see what it's all about.
Trial spaces are limited to 2 per class so you have to book in advance (you will not be allowed to join the class if you just turn up).
If you're coming with a friend it's best to book in early to ensure you both get the space.
Applicable classes are...
Wednesdays 9.15am 26th July, 23rd August, 30th August, 6th September, 13th September, 20th September and 27th September.

Thursdays 7.45pm 27th July, 17th August, 24th August, 31st August, 7th Sept, 14th Sept, 21st Sept, 28th Sept.

Life gets in the way.

Sometimes all you can do is sit still and hope the madness around you fades out.

I'm here to tell you that IT'S OK.

Just sit and B R E A T H E for a while and reset your posture.

Lift your spine towards the ceiling.

Drop your shoulders (and stretch your neck from side to side).

Imagine you are wearing a corset and feel it tighten snugly (not tightly) around your waist.

Gently lift your pelvic floor away from the ground.

Close your eyes and take some long, deep breaths.

Listen to the sound of your breath as you inhale and exhale.

Smile. You've got this.

Using both nutrition and exercise as a means for sustainable, healthy lifestyle change, she provides private 1:1 coaching and re-education in your own home*, as well as teaching classes in and around North Essex and Suffolk.
