On the 28th August I went see Mrs M for what I didn’t know would be the very last time. She has been such a darling to me as a client for almost 8 years and has filled the empty space of a ‘Nan’ to me.
Also on this day My Chlo was visiting Tasmania and the day before I’d had an exciting trip to Persephone Books in Bath. I was ready to fill her in, when she was taken into hospital on the day of our scheduled Reflexology appt (she has been my one and only long standing home visit client ). Mum and I visited her in the RUH that evening and the photo shows her and mum working out how to move the remote for the bed and giggling about it.

Until Mrs M was taken into hospital I hadn’t realised quite how much I looked forward to our monthly
catch-ups, because I could tell her what I’d been up to in the previous 4 weeks (and she could tell me too because she got up to a lot! I’ve never known such a busy woman)
She was always so keen to know what was happening in my life, how my girls were doing and also full of brilliant stories herself.
She also encouraged me to travel as much as I could because she’s been to so many places 🌍.

I have some of her stories saved in my head and had always promised to add her as a character in the book I’m writing.

Mrs M turned 95 in September, she had a wonderful life and was always so bright and enthusiastic about her exciting , delightful life with her dear Bill.

She now joins him on this day, 2nd October 2025 ♥️

I am filled with sadness that we shall not meet again in this life but I know she is at peace. I take great comfort from having spoken to her by text on Tuesday & we agreed that we had missed seeing each other in these past weeks.
Rest in peace Mrs M. I shall miss you dearly x

There are no words for a feedback such as this. My heart is full ♥️

This person and I giggled wholeheartedly .. sometimes this happens before, during and after my treatments.
Laughter is such a great medicine!

I was sad to lose my nails this morning.. one week in the sun ☀️ and they grow really lovely and strong.
I’ve always had good strong nails but since becoming a reflexologist I’m always filing them down (sometimes twice a week).

For 7 days I had a tan and white nails. It’s the little things 😂😂

🍀 🦶 World Reflexology Week 2025 🦶 🍀
🦶 Reflexology is an ancient practice, which has been around since 2330 BC.
🦶 Modern-day reflexology was first used by an ENT doctor called William Fitzgerald and went by the name Zone therapy. It was actually used as a form of early anaesthetic for very minor surgeries.
🦶 In Denmark and Sweden, reflexology is the most popular form of holistic therapy
🦶 Reflexology can be performed on our feet, hands, face and ears.
🦶 Although Reflexologists are not allowed to diagnose, issues can potentially be detected from your feet.
🦶 Miniature Maps of the Body – feet are detailed maps and depict various organs and body systems.
🦶 Reflexologists can incorporate, ‘foot reading’ where the shape, size and characteristics of a person’s feet to gain insight into their personality traits and emotional state.
🦶 Clients have reported seeing colour and / or feeling sensations in their bodies as their feet are worked upon. Some can feel energised after a treatment or indeed fall asleep during one. Everyone experiences it differently.

🦶 Reflexology is a rich and complex practice with deep historical roots and many benefits. While it’s often associated with simple foot massage, it’s much more than that. Reflexology’s ability to work throughout the body, and its potential to help with so many health issues, makes it a powerful tool for promoting overall wellbeing.

Holding space ♥️
I often talk about this with my clients but it’s something we can all practice.

Holding space means being fully present for someone physically, mentally, and emotionally. It’s giving your attention and support as they feel, wobble, or work through life’s challenges.

But it’s not just for others. Sometimes, the person we most need to hold space for is ourselves.

When we do, we create room to pause, breathe, reflect, and simply be.

The inspiration for my business name comes from the tree in the lovely garden of my home.
🌳My first client of the day has had written this extract from a book just for me.. knowing I have a Ginkgo Tree in the garden.
I knew the tree symbolised hope, but I didn’t know about the resilience shown after the terrible Hiroshima Bombing. These are ‘survivor trees’ and I look at mine (a borrowed ‘mine’) every single day in awe and feel thankful that the tree was planted here. 🌳

I’m so grateful that this client doesn’t ‘do tech’ .. because this way I get her beautiful personal writing on paper. So much better than being sent a screen shot. I shall remember this in future. ♥️
