Monday Men’s Club 🏏 ⚽️

This Monday we brought the gentlemen together for our Men’s Club, enjoying conversations about favourite sports and watching highlights from SWFC, the Six Nations and golf.

Its not always about the grand activities- It’s incredible how simple moments like these can spark memories, encourage storytelling, and build new friendships.

We then tried to plan future sessions… but as you can see we didn’t get very far 🍺

Men’s Clubs in a care home help reduce loneliness, promote a sense of belonging, and support wellbeing through shared interests and social connection.

Sometimes the smallest things—like a chat or a shared memory—make the biggest difference.

We had a lovely trip out to Graves Park Animal Farm 🐑☀️

The sun was shining, making it the perfect day for a stroll around and to spend time with all the animals. A definite highlight was bottle feeding the adorable sheep – they were so eager and gentle, and it brought plenty of smiles and laughter to everyone involved! 🍼💛

It was a wonderful way to enjoy the fresh air, connect with nature, and create some really special moments together.

A big thank you to our amazing Care Coordinator Kristie for coming along, and to Senior Carer Emma for kindly volunteering on your day off – it really means a lot!

Days like these make such special memories.

Over the past two weeks our residents have enjoyed getting creative while exploring different art materials including watercolours, oil pastels and crayons. 🎨 Together we created still life and landscape pictures, experimenting with colours and textures. 🖼️

We were also delighted to have our wonderful volunteer and artist Greg with us, offering encouragement and conversation along the way.

These sessions are a chance to relax, try something new and simply enjoy the creative process without worrying about the outcome. It has been lovely to see everyone so engaged and enjoying the moment together.

It’s been a busy Mother’s Day at Outram Fields. 💐

We enjoyed an afternoon of pampering 💅, baking 👩‍🍳 and relaxing together. There was homemade shortbread fresh from the kitchen, plenty of treats on the table, and time to sit back and enjoy good company.

Later, everyone settled down for a film with popcorn 🍿 — and what better drink to go with it than a glass of wine. 🍷

Activities like baking and social afternoons help residents stay involved, keep hands and minds active, and enjoy time together.

Cheers to all the mums. 🥂💗

Mother’s Day Breakfast at Outram Fields 💐

We started Mother’s Day with a special breakfast for our wonderful ladies.

Our fantastic carers prepared heart-shaped crumpets served with fresh fruit, alongside a glass of juice and a cup of tea – a thoughtful treat to mark the occasion.

Residents enjoyed sitting together over breakfast and tucking into their delicious plates, with plenty of appreciation for the care team who put it all together.

A lovely way to begin Mother’s Day and celebrate the amazing mums here at Outram Fields. 💕

“Will my loved one still have things to look forward to each day?”

It’s a question families often ask when they first visit Outram Fields.

This morning our residents certainly did! ☘️ We were delighted to welcome the wonderful Glendarragh DanceAcademy
who filled the home with music, energy and plenty of smiles.

Moments like these are a lovely reminder that life here is about community, shared experiences and having something to look forward to each day.

Did anyone else find themselves tapping their feet along to the music? ☘️

This time last week our party was just getting started! 🎉

What a fantastic afternoon celebrating two years of Outram Fields and the opening of our new dementia community. The home was full of residents, families, friends and members of the local community all coming together to celebrate.

A big thank you to Elaine G Photos for capturing so many wonderful moments throughout the day — from chats and laughter to singing and dancing.

Here are just a few of the lovely photos Elaine took.

🎶 Friday Music at Outram Fields 🎶

What a fantastic afternoon of music at Outram Fields! A huge thank you to the Dronfield Hand Bell Ringers for their excellent performance. The beautiful sound of the hand bells filled the room and created such a lovely atmosphere for everyone.

It was wonderful to see so many residents not only enjoying the music but also having a go themselves and joining in. There were lots of smiles, laughter, and plenty of enthusiasm all around!

Our weekly Friday music sessions continue to be a real highlight, bringing everyone together through the joy of music. We’re already looking forward to the next one! 🎵🔔

Yesterday was a bustling day at Outram Fields, with something happening from morning through to evening.

We began the day by welcoming veterans from the Frecheville & District Royal British Legion for breakfast, following the fundraising sleep out our team completed the night before in support of their local branch. It was a lovely opportunity to come together, reflect and celebrate the funds raised for veterans in our community.

In the afternoon, residents, families and friends enjoyed a visit from Paper Moon Dore
, who brought a beautiful selection of greeting cards, gifts, scarves and jewellery — giving residents the chance to browse and choose something special.

The day concluded with a glass decorating workshop with Pam Goodison Glass Artist, welcoming members of the local community into the home for a relaxed and creative evening.

It was wonderful to see so many different people enjoying the home throughout the day — residents, families, veterans and community guests all coming together at Outram Fields.

🌸 Outram in Bloom! 🌸

We’ve had a wonderfully busy week brightening up our garden spaces with some gorgeous bedding plants! 🌼🌺

A group of our residents enjoyed a lovely trip out to New Leaf Garden Centre, where they carefully chose a selection of beautiful plants to bring back to the home.

The following day, residents got stuck in planting the flowers into terracotta pots for our outdoor tables, as well as into the flower beds around the home. It was a real team effort, and the gardens are already looking fantastic! 🌷

The sun even made the odd appearance, which has definitely got us excited for the warmer summer days ahead and spending more time out on the terrace. ☀️

A big thank you to our wonderful residents for helping create such a colourful and welcoming outdoor space. It’s amazing what we can achieve together as a community! 💚
