Meet Julie one of our amazing Day Club Supervisors!
Hi my name is Julie; I have been working in the greatest job ever (Rainbow Care group) for nearly six months now.
I come from a long service in the NHS both hospital based and community nursing and alongside this I am a qualified therapist practicing alternative therapies such as Reflexology and Aromatherapy etc. I have personal experience of caring for a loved one with dementia as I looked after my father for many years after his diagnosis and fully understand how daunting it can be for all concerned.
I like to ensure our members feel safe, happy and relaxed and enable them to have great fun throughout their days spent with us at Rainbow Care group. I really enjoy getting to know each member and planning person centred activities I know they will enjoy. I feel this is the greatest honour to work in dementia care and I go home each day happy knowing I have created an inclusive and entertaining experience for our members.
My hobbies are cooking and baking and I enjoy listening to music every day, I am always singing and dancing (favourite era 1960s). I have a passion for vintage Lambretta and vespa scooters and spend summers at the coastal scooter rallies.

Meet Eleanor one of our lovely Activities Support Workers!
I have worked for Rainbow care group for over two years. I am naturally caring and polite and I enjoy helping people. I have studied a degree in Health and social care which has benefited me in my support worker role. I enjoy working at the Rainbow care group learning about Individual life stories and seeing the members develop new friendships. I enjoy in the activities and supporting all the members. In my spare time I enjoy going to church and various church activities including singing in a group called Joyful noise. I also enjoy visiting family and spending time with my husband.

Hello! I’m Sophie, I’ve now been with Rainbow care a year and love working here because I get to really connect with people and hear all about their different walks of life. Everyone has a story, and I enjoy being part of their day and bringing a bit of comfort or laughter when I can.. and visa versa!! Outside of work I’m a mum to my tiny whirlwind who keeps me very busy!

Hi, i'm Sharon and have been at Rainbow since retiring from Nursing over a year ago.
I love being part of a fantastic team that provides quality, individualised care to each of our members.Getting to know each member, spending quality time with them and having a chat is what I love the most. Seeing them laughing and enjoying themselves whilst developing friendships is wonderful to see. There's nothing more rewarding than knowing that you are making a positive difference to the lives of our members and their families.
When i'm not working i love spending time with my family.Now my children have grown up and I no longer work weekends 🥳 me and my husband love spending time visiting places we have not been before and hopefully each place includes my favourite, an Afternoon Tea 😁

Meet Sam our fantastic Lead Supervisor and Quality Officer!
Hi,
I am Sam. I work at The Rainbow Care Group in Sheffield as the lead supervisor and quality officer. I have worked with Rainbow for 20 months now and I love it.
In my time working for Rainbow I have met some fantastic people, staff, members and families.
My role is varied, it allows me the opportunity to deliver the service and be hands on with the members which is great but it also allows me to work closely with Caroline the manager in supporting the staff team to ensure that the service being delivered is of a very high standard.

I have worked in care for most of my working life, in various settings – care homes, day centres, rehab centres, and for the last 30 years have worked mainly in management positions.

The reason I love working at Rainbow is because they are incredibly person centred. Every decision made has the members best interest at heart.

I originally come from Glasgow, I have lived in Yorkshire for 22 years now. I am a Christian and church plays a large part of my life. I live with my partner and my cat and am planning to retire in 3 or 4 years time and very much hope to remain working for The Rainbow Care Group until then.
