A therapeutic approach I may integrate into my practice is ACT. ACT stands for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and is a therapeutic method which explores both internal self talk and external actions and behaviour. It helps you to the feel the feeling, and notice the thinking, from an external perspective, and work towards acceptance of self in context of past experience.

ACT is a relational approach to therapy, with links to behavioural and cognitive approaches, but which emphasises a contextual approach to experience and change.
