Lifestyle Exercise and Nutrition Improvement (LENI) is a research group at Sheffield Hallam University exploring the role of lifestyle interventions as treatment and disease-preventative options in clinical and pre-clinical groups. Our current work includes among others:
a) the study of the role of e-cigarettes as a stop smoking tool and their effects on human physiology,
b) the use of regional diets, probiotics and exercise as prevention tools for cardiovascular disease and diabetes,
c) the role of exercise as an adjunct therapy for Venous Ulceration, Systemic Sclerosis and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and
d) how fitness and exercise can affect symptoms in COVID-19.

Hello.
We are currently looking into developing a programme, which would help va**rs quit va**ng (without returning to ci******es). We are particularly interested in people, who used to be smokers and want to understand why people choose to quit va**ng, what strategies they use for quitting, and what they find difficult in the process.
Are you thinking about quitting va**ng? Or have you tried to quit before? If the answer is yes, we would love to hear from you!
We expect face-to-face or online discussions to last no more than an hour, and you will be compensated with a £25 high-street voucher for your time and insight.
We are particularly interested in speaking with men at this time.
This research has been ethically approved, is funded by the Medical Research Council and is not affiliated with any company or business.

Training the next generation of researchers is a core element of the group's mission!
Today it was a great day for us, as we had the opportunity to showcase the great work that our PhD students do, at the annual Sheffield Hallam University Health & Sport (HRI) Postgraduate Research Showcase.
Not only did our posters receive a visit by Liz Mossop, Sheffield Hallam University's Vice Chancellor, but one of our PhD students, Mr Jesse Usman, won a prize for the best poster design, as well!
Looking forward to take part in the next event in the near future!
