Follow these 10 healthy hair tips to keep your hair healthy and strong:-
1. DON'T BRUSH YOUR HAIR WHEN IT'S WET !!
Hair breakage is often caused by brushing wet hair because that's when it's at its weakest. Instead, slowly comb your hair using a wide tooth comb to remove tangles after washing it.
2. USE COLD WATER TO RINSE
Rinsing your hair with cold water closes the hair cuticles. This adds lustre and shine to the hair and helps seal in moisture.
3. COCONUT OIL HELPS HYDRATE YOUR HAIR
Coconut oil is great for repairing dry hair. It's easily absorbed and is also good for your scalp.
4. DON'T USE HEAT ON YOUR HAIR EVERY DAY
Repetitive use of heat styling tools can damage and break your hair — especially chemically treated hair. Try to limit the use of your heated tools and always make sure you use a heat protectant spray first when you do use them.
5. CONDITION REGULARLY
Conditioning nourishes and strengthens the hair shaft to improve elasticity. Condition your hair every time you shampoo and enjoy a healthier-looking and more manageable head of hair.
6. USE HAIR TIES THAT ARE GENTLE ON HAIR
Scrunchies, especially ones made of bamboo or silk, tangle and break hair less than regular hair ties. Their smooth textures minimise harmful friction that causes damage and breakage.
7. OPT FOR SATIN OR SILK PILLOWCASES
The silky-smooth fabric of either silk or satin pillowcases allows your hair to slide across the surface more easily, eliminating the friction you get when your hair rubs against a harsher fabric. This also helps reduce frizz and tangles and helps keep your hairstyle intact.
8. GET YOUR HAIR CUT REGULARLY
As a general rule of thumb, there is no one answer to how often you should get your hair cut. If you have a short hairstyle or chemically treated hair you are likely to need more frequent visits to the salon. While someone who is growing their hair or has a long hairstyle will want to wait longer between visits. Essentially if your hairstyle is no longer manageable or the ends of your hair are visibly damaged then you should head to the salon!
9. HEALTHY DIET
In order to keep your hair shiny, lustrous and strong it needs the same well-rounded diet that provides all the recommended vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients needed for good health in the rest of your body. An overall balanced diet is necessary for a healthy scalp and healthy hair.
10. DON'T WASH YOUR HAIR IN HOT WATER
Hot water is relaxing and efficient at cleansing the scalp, removing oil and dirt buildup, but can also dry your scalp, which can lead to itchiness and dandruff. Additionally, it can leave you with brittle, frizzy and dry hair. Opt for lukewarm water instead.
