IPR or Interproximal reduction perhaps isnโ€™t something you have on your mind when you think of straighter , whiter teeth, but it is kind of necessary in most aligner cases (unless itโ€™s a spacing case).

We try to make this as pleasant as possible and most of our clients tolerate this really well. :)

A smile journey is always bespoke to your goals and will be phased at .smiles.official

Phase 1 here for our client involved a re root canal with , hygiene care and replacement fillings with our restorative team.

Phase 2 involved alignment, whitening, interim composites and a gum lift

Phase 3 was exploring porcelain or bonding to make the smile pop. Weโ€™ve opted for 4 direct composites planned digitally and now we move to maintenance & retention to keep it all tickling along nicely. When we are ready, we might move to ceramics in a few years time :)

Does Invisalign hurt? You might get some mild discomfort, but otherwise itโ€™s very well tolerated by most patients.

Bespoke care. Thatโ€™s what weโ€™re about at Sheffield Smiles. Here the solution wasnโ€™t Invisalign, a full mouth rehab or 10 veneers.

We started off with the basics-hygiene and cleaning out the tooth decay in phase 1. We then whitened and did some digital smile design, alongside elective root canal of the ur1 in phase 2, before carrying out 4 direct composite veneers to give a big smile boost for a lovely lady, who had always lacked smile confidence and was super anxious of dentists for a long time.

Aligners, a bit like cars, will vary from a simple run around (3-4 months), all the way to 2 years plus in a big 4x4 case.

Naturally, you donโ€™t pay the same for a Toyota Yaris as you do for a Range Rover Vogue and a simple or complex aligner case is equally not the same price or time frame.

What can we actually treat with clear aligners?
We do some pretty funky Invisalign and take on everything from a mild to moderate crowding case that might take 6 months, all the way to a deep bite taking 18 months plus. Open bites. Underbites. Spacing cases. Extraction cases. Cases needing multiple implants at the end or new ceramics. We do them allโ€ฆ

We had the pleasure of having Tom from .talks__ at .smiles.official .
We carried out Invisalign to broaden the upper teeth, which had pre existing veneers upper 3 to 3 such that we created a wider more natural smile without adding more ceramics on this occasion and also corrected the anterior crowding, with some whitening and edge bonding to help finish things off :)
