Peter Mesits, 21, lives with the rare condition Recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, often called “Butterfly Skin.” It makes his skin extremely fragile, where even minor contact can cause painful tears and wounds.
Everyday activities can be intensely difficult. Simple things like showering or brushing his teeth can trigger pain, bleeding, and blisters. Managing the condition also involves regularly changing bandages that can stick to open wounds, adding to the physical and emotional strain.
Despite this, Peter continues to push forward. He trains at the gym to build strength and resilience, showing determination in the face of constant challenges.
His story highlights both the severity of the condition and the strength it takes to live with it every day.
