Lately I’ve been reflecting on the Invisible Mental Load so many parents carry.
Not just the physical tasks of parenting… but the Emotional & Social ones too.
Messages waiting for replies.
Group chats constantly buzzing.
Wondering if you’ve forgotten something important.
For me, one unexpected mental load reducer has been coming off WhatsApp.
I thought I’d feel as though I was missing out.
Instead it’s brought me closer to certain friends, because people have actually picked up the phone again and we’ve had more meaningful conversations than we have in years.
It’s also made me realise how many of us are quietly holding a lot in our minds every day.
