A study has found that 11 minutes of moderate exercise a day is enough to reduce the risk of early death:

"Accumulating 75 min per week of moderate-intensity activity brought with it a 23% lower risk of early death."

"I started to get excruciating pain in my right hip whereby I could not sleep, get in and out of the car, etc. After two months, I booked an appointment with Daniel of Shefford Osteopathic Clinic.

"At the first appointment, Daniel went through his diagnosis so that I understood what treatment he was going to give. After the first treatment session the pain was eased considerably. He also gave me some simple exercises to do at home. After just 3 sessions in total, the pain had gone!

It's true - strength or resistance training can help back pain.

To be safe, build up gradually and increase over time. Even training with weights has been shown to help reduce back pain as well as keep bones strong. Weight-based training protects bone and muscle strength as we age and so we can stay active for longer. It’s also good for blood pressure!

Is your phone or tablet causing your pain?

Here are a few solutions to try:
1. Hold your phone or tablet in a better position – the more upright the device, the more upright your posture.

2. If you are using your device for long periods, then consider sitting at the table.

3. Always try and use a tablet stand, especially if using your device on a sofa or bed – many cases now have stands incorporated. Using a stand takes the strain off the hands and arms from having to hold the device.

4. Finally, don’t forget to use all your fingers and not just your thumbs!

Are you struggling to find the time to exercise or cook healthily? Discover the strength and simplicity of 'swaps'!

Simply make consistently healthier small swaps and they will mount up, such as:

1. Walking every day or taking the stairs instead of a lift.
2. Swapping snacks for healthier options.
3. Parking at the far end of the car park to introduce extra steps into work/shops/the station.
