On Friday 8th May, Cromer Crematorium helped launch a meaningful new community project by donating 16 Grief & Bereavement Book Bundles to schools across North Norfolk, in partnership with local funeral directors.
The project was launched by Alison Brennan of The Healing Harbour Charity, whose hard work is hugely appreciated.
The initiative aims to help children and young people feel seen, supported, and less alone when someone important in their lives dies.
The carefully selected books were chosen by Lorna Vyse - Author drawing on her professional experience supporting bereaved children and families. The bundles provide schools with valuable resources to help guide conversations around grief and loss.

Here is myself, Hayley, with Mark the manager of Cromer Crematorium presenting Tasha at Sheringham High School with their Book Bundle.

We’re really sad to announce that Brian Teather passed quietly in his sleep on 8th November. Brian had been part of our club for 18 years- since his grandson Harry started gladiators, followed by Nelson a few years later. More recently Brian has been part of the Friday club- helping with jobs around the clubhouse and to prepare for home matches. He also enjoyed putting money behind the bar at the beginning of each season for “Brian’s Bus Beers” to help lift spirits on those long journeys home for the first team.
His funeral will be held on 4th December at 1pm at St.Peters Sheringham, with the wake being held at Holt RFC from 3.30pm, if anyone fancies popping in to raise a glass for Brian. Family have asked for no flowers as they hav decided to start fundraising to put another borehole in a community that has no access to clean water in Gambia.
If you’re interested in this there’s more information here https://gofund.me/449a1daf3
Our thoughts are with Janet and the rest of Brian’s family at this sad time. Brian simply loved being at Holt RFC.
