⚠️ The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow from 6pm on Thurs (8 Jan) to 12 noon on Fri (9 Jan) - which includes much of Shropshire.

During this period Storm Goretti is likely to bring heavy snow leading to disruption and difficult travelling conditions.

What to expect...

❗ Possible travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers
❗ Possible delays or cancellations to rail and air travel
❗ Some rural communities could become cut off
❗ Power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected

As part of our support to our local communities we remain members of the Communities Prepared network of organisations ready to assist in times of emergency.

We can be activated by local councils in East Shropshire and South Staffordshire and can provide local resources in communities and at rest centres if and when required.

This service is provided voluntarily.

The community support team had a fairly quiet night in Shifnal last night for NYE.

Just 1 incident dealt with for an accidental injury referred for further treatment at PRH.
