OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. It affects mainly women (1 in 7 will develop breast cancer during their lifetime).
The causes of breast cancer are not fully understood but we know that genetic background, lifestyle choices, environment, age and gender play a part in the risk of developing breast cancer.
Therefore, reflecting on our wellness, modifying our lifestyle and behaviour (diet, exercise, exposure to chemicals...) could influence our level of breast cancer risk.
Then, there is the life with and after cancer. Along with conventional treatments (surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy..) There is a plethora of complementary therapies available to support us through our cancer diagnosis and beyond. From nutrition to counselling, from exercise to mindfulness, from acupuncture to massage... taking care of our mental, emotional and physical health is paramount to help us to better cope with what life throws at us.
So, Ladies (and gentlemen) =>
1 - Be breast aware and know what to check for.
see the Cancer Research Uk link to breast checking below:

2 - Adopt healthier lifestyle choices and behaviour to help reduce the risk.
3 - Learn to be kind to yourself and to practice self-care living with cancer or not.
