I think modern life has made it harder for us to pause ⏸️

Even our lunch breaks have become productive.

When was the last time you ate lunch without working, scrolling, or multitasking?

I’d love to know whether this resonates with anyone you, or am I off the mark here? 🫶🏻

If your nutrition only works during a perfect week, it probably doesn’t work yet 😫

You don’t need to wait until life is calm before you start looking after yourself properly.

You need a structure that works in the week you actually have.

That’s what I help clients build.

Not a perfect plan. Not a diet you can only follow when everything is going well.

A realistic way of eating that gives you something clear to come back to when life gets busy 😰

That might mean meal ideas, portion and macro targets, weekly check-ins, habit support, or a bank of meals you can actually see yourself eating.

If you’d like to know more, the link in my bio will take you to my website, where you can see the programmes I offer and book a free discovery call 💙

Sometimes the side effects of dieting go far beyond weight ❤️‍🩹

Poor energy.
Food guilt.
Constant mental negotiation.
Feeling disconnected from hunger, fullness and enjoyment around food.

Healthy eating should support your physical and mental health, not consume it.

If this resonated with you, my inbox is always open 📥

🧠 The brain tends to pay attention to the things it thinks are scarce or forbidden.

Which is partly why overly restrictive dieting can make food feel louder, more tempting and harder to ignore.

Sustainable eating habits usually rely a lot less on “being good” and a lot more on structure, adequacy and flexibility calm 😌

I nearly didn’t share this because, as a nutritionist, I felt genuinely embarrassed when my cholesterol came back raised 😥

But going through it myself made me even more empathetic towards clients navigating weight, cholesterol, blood sugar and metabolic health.

Meaningful change rarely requires perfection or a complete life overhaul, just realistic, sustainable strategies that work in the real world.

If you’d like support with your own health goals, my coaching programmes are linked in my bio 💙 (excuse my child trying and failing to avoid the camera 🙈)

We’ve completely misunderstood the word “diet”.

It was never meant to mean restriction.
It simply meant what we eat, day in, day out.

Somewhere along the way, it became about cutting things out, shrinking ourselves, and constantly questioning whether we should be eating at all.

So today, let’s flip it!

What if your diet wasn’t about what you can’t have…
but about what actually supports you?

Will this fill me?
Will this keep my energy steady?
Will this nourish me?
Will this leave me feeling satisfied?

A small shift in thinking, but a powerful one. If this hits home, I’d love to hear your thoughts 💭 💙

Trying to “be good” with food all day often backfires.

When you arrive at dinner under-fuelled and over-hungry, appetite regulation is working against you.

One of the first things I often help clients do is rebalance energy intake across the day so evenings feel calmer and more controlled.

If this pattern sounds familiar, we can work on it together 💙

Quick fixes sell.
Consistency works.

Managing weight and blood sugar takes sustainable habits, not extreme diets.

Behind the scenes of working with a nutritionist 🤓

A lot of the work happens outside the session itself.

Time spent thinking about your goals, your health history, and the practical strategies that might genuinely work in your life.

Reviewing food diaries and looking for patterns in how you eat, move, sleep and feel day to day.

Considering the bigger picture, stress levels, medical history, supplements, family life, and even the food preferences of the people you share a kitchen with.

Keeping up to date with current nutrition research and professional standards so the advice you receive is evidence-based.

And being there between sessions too answering questions, helping you troubleshoot, and supporting the behaviour changes that make progress sustainable.

The best part of the job?

When someone finishes working with me feeling confident planning their meals, managing their diet, and continuing those habits without needing ongoing support.

That’s always the goal 🥰

Most people with type 2 diabetes don’t know this NHS programme exists

Today I was in my hometown of Shrewsbury raising awareness of the NHS Type 2 Diabetes Pathway to Remission Programme.

For people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes within the last six years, this structured NHS programme can support significant weight loss and, for some, remission.

Referrals need to come through your GP practice team (GP, nurse or pharmacist), so if you think you might be eligible it’s worth starting that conversation.

A gorgeous day to be out and about. I do love this town 💙
