ABC Hypnobirthing Prepare for a positive birth experience. Learn to stay calm, comfortable and in control of your birth Hi I'm Jenna,

A Hypnobirthing teacher from Shrewsbury.

I am a Mum of three and the founder of ABC Hypnobirthing. I found hypnobirthing whilst pregnant with my second child. My mind was completely blown by the hugely positive effect it had on me and my baby and the difference it made to my births. I felt compelled to share the power of informed and positive birth, so in 2020 I trained and qualified as a Hypnobirthing teacher ABC Hypnobirthing was born.

ABC stands for A Better Childbirth. That is my mission, to help as many people as I can to achieve the best possible birth experience for their baby and for them as parents. I love empowering parents to birth their babies with confidence, power and a sense of calm no matter what circumstances are thrown their way. I offer group and one to one courses, in person and online. Please get in touch for more information.

🔬 Did you know that staying relaxed during labor can actually reduce pain?

Studies show that relaxation techniques contributes to the release of powerful hormones and natural pain relievers —leading to a more comfortable and effective birth experience! 🌿

When women are anxious or fearful they produce stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol. Theses hormones interfere with the production of Oxytocin - FYI we need bucket loads of Oxytocin for a productive labour.

Oxytocin is a hormone that plays a crucial role in labour by stimulating contractions.
It is also associated with feelings of relaxation, bonding, euphoria and a it can distort our perception of time! When the body is producing Oxytocin it also produces another hormone called Beta-endorphins. Beta - endorphins act as the bodies natural pain killer and helps reduce the bodies perception of pain.

Staying relaxed during childbirth can reduce pain by allowing the body to work more efficiently. Relaxation relives tension allowing muscles to work more effectively and encourages the release of natural hormones and endorphins which have pain reliving effects and make can help labour happen faster and more smoothly.

The moment I knew Hypnobirthing was my calling happened shortly after the birth of my son Seb. This was my second birth but the first time I had used Hypnobirthing and WOW what a difference it made!

When I had my first child I hadn't even heard of Hypnobirthing, I did no birth preparation and went in extremely unprepared. This unfortunately led to a birth that was highly medicalised, long, painful and traumatic. I was left believing that this must be what birth is like.

Luckily in my second pregnancy I found a Hypnobirthing course and this changed everything. I went into my second birth a with a completely different mindset around birth, feeling informed, confident, strong and capable. (I was even excited to do it again.)

The birth of Seb was an AMAZING experience. One of the greatest moments, feelings of my entire life. I really enjoyed this birth, at times it was intense but I felt very empowered, strong and in control. I didn't use any medical pain relief, I listened to my body, breathed and moved through the contractions. The Hypnobirthing techniques allowed myself to sink in to this blissful birth bubble where I felt calmness and euphoria. This was the closest and most connected that I had ever felt with my Husband. I will never forget our son being born us two holding him and looking at each other thinking WOW - we just did that. It left me feeling incredible and wanting to do it all over again.

It was right there I had this realisation that what we had experienced was exactly how birth is meant to be and felt a an overwhelming feeling that everyone needed to know about Hypnobirthing and how it can transform your birth. Its there that I decided to make it my mission to help others avoid what I experienced in my first birth and support them in achieving empowered and positive births.

🌸My 3 Top Tips for a Drug-Free Birth 🌸

Dreaming of a calm, natural birth? Here are 3 powerful tips to help you achieve a natural birth without medical pain relief.

1️⃣ Master Relaxation & Breathing:

Practice deep breathing and visualization and hypnosis techniques to keep your mind calm and your body relaxed during labor.

2️⃣ Stay Active:

Moving and changing positions can help ease discomfort and keep labor progressing smoothly. Think squatting, walking, or using a birth ball!

3️⃣ Create The Right Environment:

Creating an environment that feels private, safe, peaceful, and supportive is key to a successful and positive birth experience.
Dim lighting, soothing music, relaxing scents, familiar and comforting items and minimal interruption are a few ideas for you to think about when setting up your birth environment.

Just found out your pregnant? CONGRATULATIONS!!

Here are few pregnancy symptoms that you may be dealing with over the forthcoming weeks:

🌸 Nausea or Morning Sickness
Many women experience nausea, often referred to as morning sickness, although it can occur at any time of day. This typically begins around the 6th week of pregnancy but can start earlier.

🌸Breast Changes
Hormonal changes can cause your breasts to feel tender, swollen, or sore. The areolas (the area around your ni***es) may darken, and veins on your breasts may become more noticeable.

🌸 Fatigue
Increased levels of the hormone progesterone can make you feel unusually tired early in pregnancy. This is one of the earliest signs, often appearing before a missed period.

🌸 Frequent Urination
You may notice an increased need to urinate more often due to hormonal changes and increased blood flow to the kidneys.

🌸 Food Cravings or Aversions
Pregnancy can cause changes in your sense of taste and smell. You might crave certain foods or develop aversions to foods you once enjoyed.

🌸 Mood Swings
Hormonal fluctuations can lead to mood swings, making you feel unusually emotional or weepy.

🌸 Mild Cramping or Spotting
Mild cramping, similar to menstrual cramps, can be another early symptom of pregnancy as the uterus adjusts to its new role. Some women experience light spotting or implantation bleeding around 6-12 days after conception. This is often mistaken for a light period but is generally shorter and lighter.

🌸 Bloating
The hormonal changes in early pregnancy can cause bloating, similar to the feeling you might have right before your period.

🌸 Changes in Cervical Mucus
Some women notice an increase in cervical mucus or a thicker discharge during early pregnancy.

Every body is different, so you may experience all, some, or none of these symptoms.

What pregnancy symptoms have you experienced? Let me know in the comments.
