A recent study of online DIY teeth whitening kits found that 21 out of 36 kits contained more than the legal amount of hydrogen peroxide allowed for home use.

Six of them contained more than 100 times the legal limit. These dangerous levels can burn gums, cause painful tooth sensitivity and - in some cases - permanently damage teeth.
