Do you need help with getting online?

Following on from NHS Englands online consultation access for Non urgent routine medical and Admin requests from 1st October 2025, do you need help getting online????

Tech made Friendly is a FREE local programme to help anyone with getting online, and learning some tech savvy skills, why not check it out 🙂

For those of you who are unable to get online or use the NHS App, our reception team are still available to you on 01952-605252 where they will complete the online consultation on your behalf.

Please be advised all online consultations are for Non Urgent routine and Admin requests only - when the requests come through to us they are then triaged by a Doctor who actions them accordingly - please bear in mind that we can only action one issue at a time, and this is not for any Urgent medical cases.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience whilst we embed this new system.

To whom ever wrote this lovely email yesterday a HUGE BIG THANK YOU 🩷from all of the Team - its been a tough old week with the changeover to the new system and we really appreciate all of the patience and understanding we have from our Patients, but this is so lovely I just wanted to share it ....

Overall, how was your experience of our service?

Very good

Why did you answer that?

I am a new patient to DMP - and I have to say every contact, and interaction I have rec'd has been excellent ! Kind, caring knowledgeable staff - very quick response when I have needed help. Brilliant array of additional services, e.g recent Menopause Webinars. Every contact I have felt valued, listened to and supported. I cannot thank you enough - such a difference to my last GP and I am telling everyone I can !! Thank you all x

Please tell us anything that we could have done better?

N/a

Any other comments

Thank you for being brilliant, especially in such difficult and challenging times.

🥰 Thank you right back 😘

Using our Online access is for NON-Urgent Medical requests and Admin requests.

If you are experiencing any symptoms that are URGENT, such as shortness of breath, chest pains, signs of a stroke or severe bleeding this is not for an online request. YOU NEED THE EMERGENCY SERVICES 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

Online requests are triaged, which may mean its seen by a Doctor some time after your submission, so if you are experiencing life threatening symptoms please call 999. We are NOT an Emergency Service or Urgent treatment Centre

BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR REQUESTS YOU CAN USE OUR WEBSITE HEALTH A-Z TO CHECK YOUR SYMPTOMS AS IT MAY BE THE PHARMACY THAT CAN HELP TOO: https://www.donningtonmedicalpractice.co.uk/health-information/health-a-z/

Think ‘Pharmacy First’ Advanced Pharmacy Service
Pharmacy First enables patients to access prescription-only medicines and gain expert healthcare advice for seven common conditions, without having to visit a doctor (GP), A&E or Urgent Treatment Centre.

This includes support from trained health professionals within pharmacies for symptoms of:

sinusitis
sore throat
earache
infected insect bites
impetigo
shingles
and uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women.

Some factors such as age or past medical history may determine eligibility for the service. Local pharmacy teams will be able to advise on the right service for your medical need.

To find your nearest pharmacy – http://www.nhs.uk/service-search/pharmacy

To save our time as well as yours, when completing the online access, please give as much information as possible about your request so that it can be triaged as quickly as possible

If you have been triaged and the Clinician has advied your case is Urgent and you must seek 999 or attend A&E you must do so. NHS 111 cannot send you back to the surgery under "Duty of Care" if we cannot deal with your emergency every moment in time is precious. We do not have the facilities to treat Emergency situations. Please help us to help you 🩷

We'd like to thank all of our patients who have used the online access so far in helping us to change and improve to make the practice as accessible to everyone who needs our care, this is new to us and our team so we are changing and evolving with every new situation, we appreciate your patience and would like to once again encourage all to download the NHS App so that all of your information is at your fingertips, for test results, hospital letters and Prescription requests.

We are currently experiencing issues with the NHS App for the following options:

"Contact your GP about a health problem" & "Contact your GP surgery for a document or update"

This is an issue with the NHS App itself - it has been reported and will be fixed asap.

This is affecting some patients but not all, so please try the NHS App as your first option, and if you dont have those options available to you, then click on the link below .

For all online non urgent or admin requests please use the link below for the surgery website and on the GREEN banner click on "Submit a Request"

https://www.donningtonmedicalpractice.co.uk

For anyone that doesn't have access to online our reception team are happy to help you on our phone lines ☎️

We appreciate that this has been a bit of upheaval and we are truly thankful for all of the messages of support and praise that we have recived following the start on Wednesday, so from us all here, a heartfelt thank you, and have a great weekend.
