Yr Wyddfa done ✅

This has been a Bucket list ride for years, but I've just never got around to doing it.

Stoked that I finally got this one in the bag, although it won't be the last time! 😍

If you're finding yourself in a position where pain is inhibiting or stopping you riding. And that whatever it is you are doing to make it better has not improved the symptoms, then it's probably time to look into something different.

🚨 Most pain can be improved through exercise 🚨

So many people get caught up trying to treat the problem rather than fix it (osteopaths, chiropractors etc).

You end up spending hundreds, if not thousands on treatment trying to get other people to fix your problems with no long term improvement, not knowing you can make more of a difference yourself.

All you need is some guidance on what to do and that's where I come in 🕺

The barbell smash 💥 Move aside foam roller, we mean business with this one.

If you're struggling with getting depth on your Squat, or get pain within the knees, or even plantar fasciitis (pain in the base of the foot) then this can be a great exercise to break up any "tight" tissues that can contribute to any of the above.

You can be in control of the pressure that manipulates the targeted area. Increasing the pressure will deepen the release. Start near the top of the calf (towards the knee) and work your way down (towards the achillies) 🦵

Working into a front split position really helps target the hip flexors and hamstrings (and if you're really tight, quads, calfs and tibialas anterior) 🤸
This is just one of many great stretches that can help you move and perform better. Sprinkle a little strength training on top then you can call yourself an athlete 💅

If you want strength, you need to stop going to kettlebell classes or equivalent.

Strength reduces the chances of injury and comes from picking up weights as heavy as you, or heavier.. And not by a 10kg kettlebell 🏋️

Your bike probably weighs over 15kg, your ebike weighs 25kg, so good luck lifting them over that farmers gate after using single digit weights 🫠

Classes are great, but remember what your goals require.

Want quads from the God's?🦸

The Sissy Squat is a compound exercise that primarily isolates your quadriceps (top/front of the thigh) 🦵

Strong quads can improve the stability of your kneecaps and protect your joints to avoid injuries such as patellofemoral pain.

We eccentricly loaded this exercise and worked on greater volume using more time under tension and repetition.

Copenhagen planks are one the best core exercises for building a solid foundation 🏋️‍♂️ sit ups are s**t.
If they're in your routine, scrap them now as they're as useless as the letter G in lasagna.

Find your why?!

Value what you do to get the most out of it - Whether it's riding your bike, training in the gym or competing at a competitive level 🚴

If you partake half-heartedly in anything you do, highlight why you are doing it and the benefits to value your reasoning for doing so - whether it's to better your mental/physical health, get fitter or stronger or anything else.

Sometimes we forget our why so it's good to reflect to appreciate it's benefits 🙌
