Hi 👋🏼 a little introduction from me, Mary, the speech therapist behind New Heights Speech and Language Therapy. It’s been a while since I’ve posted due to being on maternity leave with my twin girls, and then focusing on getting back into working with all my lovely families. But I’m looking forward to getting back to posting about the work I do and some top tips!

Today in therapy we were working on the child’s speech sound target initial ‘sh’ using matching pairs game. After they turned over each picture they said the word. And once they have a pair they practiced putting the work into a sentence.

Try extending your child’s language by adding another word to what they have said, or putting the word into a little sentence. Try using different types of verbs such as action words (sleeping, jumping, cuddling) and describing words (fluffy, brown, tired, hungry)
