Tuesdays are always bustling at the practice, and parking becomes especially challenging. To help manage this, we’ve been trialing staff permits to monitor car park usage more effectively. However, one of our team members today received a sticker on their car — despite having a disability.

While they may not yet have a blue badge, they were scheduled to see a full clinic of patients today. The question is: where else were they supposed to park?

We kindly ask for understanding and compassion. If our staff can’t access parking, it directly impacts patient care. Let’s support one another — because kindness makes all the difference.

Why bladder leakage?
1 in 5 people in the UK are impacted by bladder problems. 1 in 3 women are living with bladder leakage. With an ageing population, we expect this figure to continue to rise in the coming decade.

From overactive bladder and urge incontinence, to stress incontinence, mixed incontinence, overflow incontinence and many more; there are lots of people who experience bladder leakage. It can be for many reasons. Some females may experience bladder leakage during menopause or after child birth. Some people who have been treated for urology cancers including bladder cancer or prostate cancer may experience bladder leakage. For some people experiencing urinary tract infections, bladder leakage may occur. Lots of people in the UK need to use continence products including catheters and urostomy bags and may deal with leakage issues.

Bladder leakage can impact all aspects of a person’s life. There is also a significant impact on the health service.

The NHS bowel cancer screening kit can detect signs of cancer before you notice anything is wrong.

If you’re sent a bowel cancer screening kit, put it by the loo. Don’t put it off.

Taking time for ourselves is a really important part of self-care. One way to switch off from the demands of day-to-day life is by using relaxation exercises. 👣
Relaxation allows physical and/or mental tension to be released. Learning to relax takes practise, as with learning any new skill. It’s a great way to to help us unwind and bring our tensions and anxiety under control.💙
It’s a good idea to practise regularly so we can be more prepared for the more stressful times. Below is an example of a relaxation exercise for you to try.
