Sore throat? If needed, your pharmacist can now provide some prescription medicine without seeing a GP.

Think pharmacy first.

This is why we walk.

We received a message this week that stopped us in our tracks. It definitely reminded me that when it's hard we need to keep pushing forward as there are people who need our support!

To the man who sent this: Thank you for your bravery. It takes immense strength to show up for that first walk, but it takes even more to look back and realize how far you’ve come. You are the reason we do this.

You don’t need to be "fixed," and you certainly don't need to walk alone. The hardest step is the one out of your front door.

We’ll be there for all the ones after that. Take the first step!

Are you neurodivergent or caring for someone who is?

Cloverleaf Advocacy is inviting people to take part in a survey about making healthcare more accessible for neurodivergent people.

Visiting a healthcare provider can sometimes feel overwhelming or overstimulating for neurodivergent people, and Cloverleaf would like to help improve this experience.

Your perspective is important. Whether you are neurodivergent yourself or support someone who is, your experiences can help shape more inclusive and accessible health services.

The survey only takes a few minutes to complete, and your feedback can help Cloverleaf ensure neurodivergent people are heard when it comes to healthcare.

From January 2026, there will be a change to how your child’s 2–2½ year Health and Development Review is carried out.

The 0–19 Service will now complete all children’s 2-year reviews. Previously, some reviews were done by Early Years settings alongside the EYFS Progress Check.

You’ll receive an appointment shortly after your child’s second birthday.

Your child’s Early Years setting will still complete the EYFS Progress Check as usual.

These two reviews will now be separate, giving you:

✅A clearer picture of your child’s development
✅A valuable chance to discuss any questions or concerns

The 0–19 Service and Early Years settings will continue working closely together to support you and your family.

Look out for your appointment letter and pop the date in your diary!

Slaithwaite Health Centre are taking part in a reserach study called
TATUK (Take-A-Test-UK) Virology Surveillance Participation.

Virology surveillance is a programme to measure the effectiveness of the influenza/flu, RSV and COVID vaccinations using results from swabs taken by patients who are unwell. The swabs are used to monitor the spread of several respiratory viruses, like influenza, RSV and COVID in different regions. By providing a swab, this enables public health bodies to make crucial public health decisions.

Patients can be signposted to TATUK website (https://takeatestuk.com/) to request a sampling kit without having an appointment

Patients must include the practice ODS number B85059 and their NHS number – this is mandatory in order to order a self swab kit

TATUK Clinical Eligibility
Open to all ages
Experiencing respiratory symptoms i.e. cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath
Swabs must be taken within 7 days of onset of symptoms
patients do not require an appointment or appointment triage to access the pathway

TATUK Test Results
Patients receive their test results by text message, typically within one week of the sample being received at the laboratory
Practices will be emailed the test results.

The pathway is live from December 2025 to March 2026
