Yep, you read that right: peanuts belong to the legume family, just like beans and lentils 🫘

So why does everyone think they’re nuts? 🤔
🇺🇸 Peanuts are also known as “American peanuts”… but why?
They originally come from South America and were brought to Europe by the Spanish. The “American” part refers to their geographic origin. And because of their shape and texture, peanuts are often associated with tree nuts, which is why they got that nickname.

🪖 Last but not least: the name became even more popular during the World Wars, since peanuts were used as a cheap, nutritious, long-lasting food for American soldiers.
🌟 Peanut benefits:
✔ Rich in plant-based protein: perfect if you want a filling, nutritious snack.
✔ Packed with healthy fats (yes, the heart-friendly ones ❤️).
✔ Full of vitamins and minerals like vitamin E, magnesium, and zinc.

⚠️ But watch out:
