Are you considering weight loss meds ?
All the new N.I.C.E guidance and meds on NHS prescription are not magic bullets. There are still no long term lasting results without looking at food choices and activity. Meds do work alongside these but only as an ‘in addition to’.

Think of trying to lose weight with just meds alone with no lifestyle support alongside is like having the screw without the screwdrive👍
One is pretty unsucessful in trying to put up a shelf without the other!!

Getting motivated to start ‘Healthy’ in January. Maybe this can be influenced by a few strategies:

👍. Set Clear Goals: Define specific, achievable fitness goals, whether it's losing weight, building muscle, or improving endurance.

👍. Create a Schedule: Plan out your workouts in a way that fits into your daily routine, making it easier to stick with.

👍. Find an Activity Buddy: Exercising with a friend can make workouts more enjoyable and hold you accountable.

👍 Start Small….. (really small!) Begin with manageable workouts to build confidence and prevent burnout. Gradually increase the intensity.

👍. Mix It Up: Incorporate a variety of activities (like swimming, cycling, or yoga) to keep things interesting. Don’t forget that dancing around in the living rooms and walking IS activity.

👍. Join Classes or Groups: Participating in fitness classes can motivate you through community support and structured workouts.

Christmas can be a ‘sod it’ feeling and then you assume all is lost on your healthy eating or weight loss.
Reality check - it really isn’t!
Don’t over dramatise just to give yourself permission to not change and don’t ‘wait till the New Year’.
Just enjoy Christmas and write down what it is you truly enjoy about Christmas!
Lovely food will be on your list but so will so many other great things.
Also don’t gloss over the reality of over eating - be realistic - often it makes you feel dreadful! Hangovers, lost time with family and friends, mood swings, gut rot, dreadful wind and blah blah.
Be realistic and just ENJOY your food and drink - don’t fall into the trap of ‘well i’ve ruined it now I may as well just eat everything in sight’ meh - don’t be such a drama Queen !
You would have to eat over 3500kcals over normal intake to gain 1lb and a bag of M&Ms only has around 350!

Keep it real
Don’t over dramatise and don’t make Christmas all about food !
Keep a food diary if it helps - share food and just take a breath inbetween meals !
Have a soft drink inbetween alcohol and be present for it all 💪🏻
Overall Happy Christmas and enjoy yourself plenty -
